How do I make a claim with SureSave?

Need to file to a claim? Here’s how to go about getting the process started.

  • Get in touch. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, call Specialty Assist immediately. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will provide help with medical emergencies and locating the nearest medical facilities. You should also get in touch if you’re accused of causing an accident or if there’s a claim lodged against you. Remember not to admit fault or offer to pay anyone until you’ve spoken to Speciality Assist.
  • Submit documents. Depending on the nature of your claim, you will be asked to submit certain documents as evidence. This can include medical or police reports, receipts, valuations, reports from the travel service providers and proof of ownership.
  • Respect the process. Your claim will be processed within 10 business days as soon as all your complete dossier has been received. If the insurer requires additional information, they’ll contact you. When supplying information and answering questions, be as honest and complete as possible in your responses.

Q. I’m a senior traveller.Can I apply for Suresave travel insurance?

  • A. Yes. Although the age restriction on the regular policies is 76 years, Suresave provides a Senior Travel Insurance policy with no age restrictions. However, you might be asked to submit to medical test and screening to determine whether or not you suffer from pre-existing medical conditions, if any.

Q. I travel frequently during the year. Which plan would be best for me?

  • A. The Annual Frequent Traveller Plan is ideal for travellers who take several trips a year. Offering all the benefits of the Premium policy, the Annual policy is valid for a 12-month period and covers an unlimited number of trips (of a maximum of 50 days each) within the insured period.

Q. Who is covered by the terms of my policy?

  • A. A single policy covers you and your dependents. A family policy will cover you, your spouse or partner and accompanying dependents. Be sure to include all travelling partners and dependents on your Certificate of Insurance when you apply.

Q. I have a pre-existing medical condition,can I apply for travel insurance?

  • A. As long as your pre-existing condition is covered by the terms of your chosen policy, you will be covered for illnesses or medical emergencies that arise as a result of it. If not, you’ll have to submit to a medical assessment and then apply for additional insurance to have your illness or condition covered.

Q. What happens if I need to make changes to my policy?

  • A. If your personal or travelling circumstances have changed since purchasing the policy, get in touch with Suresave or your insurance agent to make amendments. You will either be issued a new or a replacement policy, with a new Certificate of Insurance.

Q. Can I cancel my [SureSave ] policy if I’m not happy with it?

  • A. If you no longer want the policy, you have a 14-day period from the issue of the Certificate of Insurance during which to cancel it. If done within this cooling-off period, you will be issued a full refund.
