Our verdict: With over 40 pre-existing medical conditions automatically covered and no age limits on most plans, National Seniors Travel Insurance is a solid option for older travellers.
Over 40 pre-existing medical conditions are covered as standard and cover for other conditions can be considered following a medical screening.
There's no age limit for the snow sports add-on option, making National Seniors Travel Insurance one of the few brands that covers over 75s on the slopes.
Cons
Cover is expensive. We requested a quote using the details of a 65-year-old traveller heading to the US for two weeks. Comprehensive cover came in at over $1,000.
There's no option to add an adventure pack which means some higher risk activities aren't covered including rock climbing or riding a scooter.

Here's the bottom line about National Seniors Travel Insurance
National Seniors is one of the few brands that offer snow sports cover to over 75s, making it a good option for older travellers who want to hit the slopes.
It also offers excellent cover for COVID-19, covers a wide range of pre-existing medical conditions as standard and allows medical screenings so travellers can apply to have other conditions covered.
However, cover is quite expensive and there is no option to add an activity pack, so some pastimes won't be covered, including riding a scooter or rock climbing outdoors.
National Seniors covers over 40 pre-existing medical conditions as standard, including anaemia, cataracts, and diabetes. However, specific limitations or conditions may apply so be sure to check the PDS carefully..
No, you just have to be over 18 to take out your own policy.

Finder makes money from featured partners, but editorial opinions are our own.
Finder is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We are committed to our readers and stand by our editorial principles.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
We make money by featuring products on our site. Products marked as 'Top Pick', 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product.
