Travel insurance rules continue to change as a result of the pandemic. Some information may not be accurate at this time. It’s even more important to double-check all details that matter to you before taking out cover. Please note:
    • Some policies may not be available through Finder at this time
    • It’s unlikely that your policy will cover expenses from border closures
warningFinally, some good news! Travel is picking up, so some insurers have started offering cover again. Just remember, you won't be covered for any pandemic related claims if you do take out domestic travel insurance.

I’m planning an almost 5-month trip through Asia and Europe, which I will take once I’m free of my commitment as a carer to a terminally-ill relative. So I have no fixed dates – and 29 countries can’t be input either. I’m currently 72 years old. I simply need a rough estimate of my travel insurance costs for budgeting purposes. Nothing pre-existing and I’d want comprehensive cover.

        Hi Brian,

Thanks for getting in touch with Finder. I hope all is well with you. 😃

It’s nice to hear about your travel plan. You may head to our travel insurance page and use our comparison table to compare quotes from various insurers. You can put “Worldwide” as your destination and then simply select any date. This will give you an idea of how much a comprehensive cover would cost you.

I hope this helps. Should you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out again.

        Have a wonderful day!

        Hi Dianne,

Thank you for leaving a question.

I understand that you are not able to pay for an insurance quote via credit card. For this instance, you may need to call the insurer’s customer service number for you to be able to complete this transaction. Hope this helps!

Tick Travel seems to be the best price for me. I will be going Africa for 2 weeks included in the time given and although I put Africa down for a destination, it did not come up on the list of destinations. Would I be covered or not >

        Hi Helen,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.
You may want to check out this for your reference. This link also includes some general exclusions to claim with Tick Travel Insurance like if it arises due to your travel through a region for which the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has issued a travel advisory. So going to Africa is still covered unless there’s a travel advisory from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

        I hope this helps.

        Have a great day!

Will a annual multi trip, insurance cover me for a Baltic cruise in June followed by a transatlantic in September followed by a cruise from Hawaii to Sydney . I will be away in total for more than 60 days. Or should I cover each cruise separately

      Many thanks

        Hi Margaret,

        Thanks for your question.

The best option between the annual travel insurance premium and single trip policy for every travel depends on your personal circumstances.

An annual travel insurance may cover you for the trips you mentioned. You can review the conditions in regards to getting an annual travel insurance premium from the brands in our panel.

If you would like to get a quote, please complete our online form found on the same page and select the ‘get my quote’ button.

Please make sure though to read the eligibility criteria, features and details of the policy, as well as the relevant Product Disclosure Statement PDS/T&C’s of the policy before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you. If necessary, speak to the insurance brand to verify any details.
