A travel ban is in place for all Australians effective 25 March 2020. Most travel insurance brands will not cover you if you travel against a government warning. If you already have a policy, please contact your insurer directly for more information. We are currently updating our site to reflect the Australian government’s advice. Some travel insurance policies will be temporarily unavailable.

Does Webjet travel insurance cover cruises?
Webjet offers an add-on insurance package called Cruise Cover. This means you'll be covered for all of the standard cruising issues such as;
Onboard medical and dental cover
Ship to shore medical cover
Sea sickness cover
Missed shore excursions
Does Webjet cover pre-existing medical conditions?
Webjet automatically includes some pre-existing medical conditions - including epilepsy, asthma, and allergies. However, you'll only be covered if the condition hasn't flared up recently.
You can also request to have your medical condition assessed by Webjet if you'd like your insurance to cover it. You'll have to do a quick online assessment, but it could give you peace of mind that you'll be covered if your condition flares up.
However, Webjet makes it very clear that there are some pre-existing medical conditions that it won't cover under any circumstance. These include any terminal illness and alcoholism or addiction.
Are there add-ons available?
Yes. Webjet offers a range of add-on options, so you can create a travel insurance policy which meets your needs and gives you peace of mind.
Additional benefits for missed ports, seasickness, cabin confinement, and more.
Increased luggage item cover
Increase the item limit, so you can claim the full value if one of your expensive items is lost, damaged or stolen.
Adventure activities cover
Cover for riskier activities, including outdoor rock climbing, skydiving, and trekking more challenging routes.
Snow sports cover
Cover for skiing and snowboarding - including injuries on the slopes, stolen equipment, and lost lift passes.
Motorcycle/moped riding cover
Cover if you're riding a motorcycle - including injuries as a rider or pillion, and any damages you might cause.
Existing medical conditions
Submit an online health assessment and have your pre-existing medical conditions considered and covered by Webjet.
If you've ever had pregnancy complications, are expecting a multiple birth, or your baby was conceived with medical help, you'll only be covered if you opt for the pregnancy add-on.
What's not covered by Webjet
All travel insurers have some exclusions – and they're usually pretty similar – but it's still important to read your PDS carefully. Here are a few key things Webjet won't cover you for:
Consequential claims, like loss of enjoyment
Any claims that were due to recklessness
Any illegal or malicious act by you
If you are not honest and open when lodging your claim
Elective medical or dental treatment
Body modification, including tattoos and piercings
If authorities confiscate or destroy your property
If you're travelling against the advice of a medical professional
Extreme sports or very high risk activities
Self harm, suicide, or drug and alcohol abuse
Claims related to war, riots or strikes
Riding a motorbike or scooter without a helmet or suitable licence
⚠️ This list is not exhaustive, so always read your PDS before buying a policy or contact the insurer directly if you have any questions.

Important information about this website
finder.com.au is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We compare from a wide set of banks, insurers and product issuers. We value our editorial independence and follow editorial guidelines.
finder.com.au has access to track details from the product issuers listed on our sites. Although we provide information on the products offered by a wide range of issuers, we don't cover every available product or service.
Please note that the information published on our site should not be construed as personal advice and does not consider your personal needs and circumstances. While our site will provide you with factual information and general advice to help you make better decisions, it isn't a substitute for professional advice. You should consider whether the products or services featured on our site are appropriate for your needs. If you're unsure about anything, seek professional advice before you apply for any product or commit to any plan.
Products marked as 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product. You can learn more about how we make money here.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
Providing or obtaining an estimated insurance quote through us does not guarantee you can get the insurance. Acceptance by insurance companies is based on things like occupation, health and lifestyle. By providing you with the ability to apply for a credit card or loan, we are not guaranteeing that your application will be approved. Your application for credit products is subject to the Provider's terms and conditions as well as their application and lending criteria.
