Good2Go Travel Insurance FAQs about cover

Question: Who can apply for these policies?

  • Answer: AIG travel insurance is available to permanent Australian residents travelling locally or internationally, and who intend to return to Australia at the end of their journeys. Children and dependents under the age of 21 are covered free of charge. Applicants over 85 must contact the medical assessment desk for cover.

Question: Can I extend my policy while I’m away?

  • Answer: Yes, as long as you do it before the expiration date of your current policy. You’ll be asked to pay a premium. Cover is not extended automatically and depends on the outcome of a review of your travel arrangements and claims history.

Question: What are excluded destinations?

  • Answer: These are destinations not covered by Good2Go policies. You will not be compensated for any loss, damage or legal liability arising directly or indirectly from travel in, to or through Afghanistan, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan or Syria.

Question: Who is Travel Guard and what do they do?

  • Answer: Travel Guard provides 24/7 worldwide assistance during an emergency. In the case of a medical emergency, Travel Guard will organise treatment, inform your family and relevant medical experts, and keep an eye on your situation until you’re ready to continue your journey or go home.

Question: My journey lasts longer than 12 months. Am I eligible for cover?

  • Answer: You are not eligible for Good2Go travel insurance if you are travelling for more than 12 months.

Question: Can I cancel my Good2Go policy if I’m not happy with it?

  • Answer: If you haven’t yet left on your trip or haven’t yet filed a claim on your policy, you will receive a full refund if you decide to cancel your policy within the 14-day cooling-off period.
