The Bank of Sydney Platinum Mastercard offers complimentary transport accident insurance for eligible overseas travel, as well as purchase protection insurance and extended warranty cover for eligible purchases. It also earns $8 cashback per $1,000 of eligible spending. It has a $129 annual fee and 18.49% p.a. purchase rate (outside of any promotions), which are both on par with other platinum rewards cards.

  • Apple Pay

Bank of Sydney credit cards can be added to Apple Pay so you can make payments straight from your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

  • Mastercard benefits

You can use a Bank of Sydney credit card with any business that accepts Mastercard, including over 200 countries and territories around the world. You'll also get access to travel, dining, shopping and entertainment offers through Mastercard Priceless.

  • Interest-free days

Similar to most other credit cards, BOS cards offer up to 55 days interest-free on purchases when you meet the repayment requirements listed on your statement.

  • Balance transfers

If you want to transfer a balance from an existing card held with another bank or brand, you can request a balance transfer with Bank of Sydney and get an introductory 0% p.a. balance transfer rate for the first 6 months. After the introductory period, any remaining balance will attract the card's purchase rate.

  • Account management features

You can check your balance, make payments and reset your PIN using Bank of Sydney's internet or mobile banking services. You can also put a temporary lock on your credit card by calling the bank on 13 95 00 or visiting a branch.

Bank of Sydney credit cards are currently only available to new and existing home loan customers. If you have a home loan with Bank of Sydney, or are in the process of getting one, you can submit an enquiry for a credit card online. You could also call or visit a Bank of Sydney branch.

If you're eligible to apply, make sure you have the following documents and details on hand to complete the application:

  • Personal details. This includes your name, date of birth, mailing address, email address and phone number. You may also need to provide a valid form of ID, such as your driver's licence or passport./li>
  • Income details. You'll need to include details of your employment and income from all sources. You may be asked for recent payslips or other supporting documents, such as tax assessment notices from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • Liabilities and expenditure. If you have existing loans or credit cards, you’ll need to provide details on the application. This includes your Bank of Sydney home loan details. You also need to provide an estimate of your share of regular household spending.
