bcu Credit Cards
Types of credit cards that bcu offers
bcu offers two different credit cards you can choose from:
Low rate credit cards
The bcu classic credit card is designed to provide affordable access to credit, with a low standard variable interest rate for purchases and cash advances. It has a competitive annual fee and offers up to 55 interest free days on purchases.
Rewards credit cards
The bcu Rewarder Credit Card is no longer available for new customers. The credit card cannot be applied for, however, the information on this page has been kept for the benefit of existing customers and for those who are interested.
The bcu Rewarder credit card is designed to give you more value for choosing to pay with plastic. In addition to a competitive interest rate and annual fee, this card offers points for every dollar that you spend. When you earn enough points, you can choose to redeem them for purchases anywhere EFTPOS is accepted.
Benefits of bcu credit cards
bcu credit cards provide the following benefits:
Single interest rate
While most credit cards charge different interest rates for purchases and cash advances, bcu credit cards apply the same interest rate for purchases as well as cash advances. If you use your credit card for a wide range of transactions and carry a balance, this feature can make it easier to calculate interest charges and budget for your repayments.
Unique rewards program
The bcu credit card rewards program allows you to redeem points through any merchant in Australia who accepts EFTPOS payments. This allows you to get rewards you really want, rather than choosing something from a catalogue.
Easy access to money
You can use a bcu credit card for spending in-person, online or over the phone, anywhere Visa is accepted. You can also use your card to withdraw money from ATMs in Australia and overseas.
Both bcu credit cards come with Visa payWave technology. This allows you to make contactless transactions at participating merchants with no need for a PIN when you spend less than $100. Visa also offers zero liability insurance against fraud, and additional security for online shopping through the Verified by Visa service.
