bcu Credit Cards

With competitive interest rates, low annual fees and interest-free days, bcu credit cards provide a range of features to suit your needs.

bcu was established in the early 1970s when a small group of business owners from the North Coast region of NSW decided to create an alternative to the banks. Originally known as the Nambucca Banana Growers’ Federation Members Credit Union, its name changed to Bananacoast Community Credit Union Ltd in 1974.

Now known as bcu, this credit union's network stretches from Queensland's Sunshine Coast in the north to Port Macquarie in the south. It offers a variety of financial services and products for individuals, businesses, kids, students, households, retirees and community groups. When it comes to credit cards, bcu has a low-cost option designed to suit different spending habits and needs.

Benefits of bcu credit cards

bcu credit cards provide the following benefits:

  • Single interest rate

While most credit cards charge different interest rates for purchases and cash advances, bcu credit cards apply the same interest rate for purchases as well as cash advances. If you use your credit card for a wide range of transactions and carry a balance, this feature can make it easier to calculate interest charges and budget for your repayments.

  • Unique rewards program

The bcu credit card rewards program allows you to redeem points through any merchant in Australia who accepts EFTPOS payments. This allows you to get rewards you really want, rather than choosing something from a catalogue.

  • Easy access to money

You can use a bcu credit card for spending in-person, online or over the phone, anywhere Visa is accepted. You can also use your card to withdraw money from ATMs in Australia and overseas.

  • Visa benefits

Both bcu credit cards come with Visa payWave technology. This allows you to make contactless transactions at participating merchants with no need for a PIN when you spend less than $100. Visa also offers zero liability insurance against fraud, and additional security for online shopping through the Verified by Visa service.
