I am an Australian resident with siblings in UK. I am travelling to Indonesia. Would I be covered for trip cancellation should something happen to one of them, as they live outside of Australia?

    • Staff
      William | May 20, 2014

      Hi Anne,

According to the 1Cover product disclosure statement, cancellation cover will apply for events that are unexpected and outside of your control. Cover for cancellation due to the hospitalisation or death of a family member due to a pre-existing condition will only apply if the family member or relative is in Australia or New Zealand and you were unaware of the likelihood of hospitalisation or death prior to your journey. It is definitely worth checking with 1Cover to find out exactly what events you will be eligible to claim cancellation cover in the event that anything were to happen to your siblings.

Thanks for your enquiry and all the best.

Is 1Cover Insurance the same as Cover More insurance?

    • Staff
      William | March 25, 2014

      Hi Adrienne,

Thank you for your comment. No, 1Cover and Cover More are different travel insurance providers both offering their own range of products. 1Cover policies are underwritten by Lloyd’s of London and Cover More policies are underwritten by Munich Re Group.

      All the best.
