If you don't have a Westpac Altitude Rewards credit card right now, you could kick-start your rewards balance with an introductory bonus points offer. These deals usually give new cardholders thousands of bonus points for meeting a spend requirement.
For example, some cards offer around 120,000 bonus Altitude Points when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months.
As with most rewards cards, the bonus point offers on Westpac Altitude Rewards cards are only available for a limited time, so check before you apply to see if there's a deal that you want.
Most of your everyday spending is eligible to earn Altitude Rewards points, including supermarket shopping, petrol, dining out and entertainment. Transactions that are not considered eligible purchases include cash advances, BPAY payments, balance transfers and government charges. The exception is Westpac’s Altitude Business cards: the Altitude Business Platinum earns 1 point per $1 on government payments and the Altitude Business Gold earns 0.5 points per $1.

Finder's points calculator estimates each Altitude Rewards Point is worth 0.4 cents. You can get an estimate of the value for different amounts of points with this calculator.
But there’s no fixed value for Altitude Rewards points. It depends on how you spend them. From 30 September 2026, a $100 eGift card costs 29,412 Altitude Points, which works out to about 0.34 cents per point (up from 23,500 points before the change).
Always choose rewards that you want or need, so you can at least save some cash. If there's nothing you want, keep saving points until you have enough for a reward you do want.
If you're planning to travel in the future, keep point transfers in mind as frequent flyer programs typically offer the most value per point when they are redeemed for flights.
