Balance transfer credit cards
Woolworths offers extended balance transfer promotions, with 0% interest on balances transferred to a new Woolworths credit card at the time of your application. At the end of the introductory period, this 0% interest rate reverts to the standard variable interest rate for cash advances. The Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card is a platinum rewards card that earns Everyday Rewards Points. Every four months, these points are automatically converted to cash back in the form of a Woolworths Shopping Card. How to apply for a Woolworths credit card
Follow the links on this page to start a secure online credit card application on the Woolworths website. The application will only take you 10 to 15 minutes to complete if you have the following information ready:
- Personal information. As well as some basic information about yourself, have your driver's licence handy. You may also be required to verify your identity by providing 100 points of identification.
- Income and employment details. You’ll need to input information about your income and employer. You may also be asked to provide proof of your income to Woolworths. For example, by sending them your most recent payslips.
- Balance transfer details. If you want to save money on credit card repayments with a balance transfer, you’ll need the credit card you want to transfer from close by when you apply for the Woolworths credit card. The application also requires you to list your ongoing expenses like rent or mortgage repayments, child support and your weekly food budget.

What if I forget my PIN?
If you can't remember your credit card PIN, call the customer contact centre on 1300 10 1234. Note that you may be required to provide identification information to verify your account and card.
Is there instant approval for credit card applications?
Once you have completed your credit card application, Woolworths will provide you with a reference number and process your application within the next 10 business days. Woolworths may contact you if they require any further information regarding your application.
How do I check on my credit card application?
If you applied for a Woolworths credit card but didn’t hear anything about your application, call the Customer Service team on 1300 10 1234 and follow the prompts to speak to a representative. You may also want to check the junk folder in your email as it can sometimes get tagged as spam.
What happens if my application has been declined?
You'll be informed in writing if your credit card application is declined. Credit card issuers are unable to tell you why an application has been rejected, however, if it’s because of your credit file, you'll be notified of this and directed to further information.
How do I transfer my card debt to a Woolworths card with a balance transfer?
You can elect to transfer your non-Woolworths credit card or store card debt to a Woolworths credit card when you apply for the account online.
- Balance transfers are accepted from other credit cards or store cards only
- You can transfer from up to two other credit cards or store cards
- The minimum amount you can transfer is $500 and the maximum amount is up to your available credit limit, less $500
If you're approved for the account, once your receive and activate the card the balance transfer will be automatically processed by Woolworths.
For existing customers:
- Existing Woolworths account holders that want to transfer a balance from another credit card or store card will need to complete and send in a balance transfer request form. You can download this from the Woolworths website.
- If your balance transfer to a Woolworths credit card is accepted, it can take up to 14 business days before the funds clear and you can see the balance in your account.
When do I get my first credit card statement?
Your statement is issued within five weeks of the first transaction you make on your Woolworths credit card. If you have requested a balance transfer, it counts as a transaction and is processed as soon as you activate your Woolworths credit card.
How do I get interest-free days on purchases?
If you can’t pay your Woolworths credit card balance in full when your statement is issued, you're required to pay back a small percentage of your total outstanding balance by the due date shown on your statement. How do I make a repayment to my Woolworths credit card?
You can make a repayment to your Woolworths credit card in the following ways.
- BPAY. If you're paying your Woolworths credit card from another institution's online banking facility, log in to your Internet banking and select BPAY from the payments and transfers menu. You will need to enter the BPAY Biller Code 017574 and your Customer Reference Number, which is your account number. BPAY payments can take up to two business days to process.
- Direct debit. You can set up a direct debit payment from your everyday transaction or savings account with another bank. You can set up a direct debit to pay just the minimum repayment due on your account, a fixed amount or the entire balance of your credit card.
- In person. You can also pay your credit card at a Woolworths supermarket with cash or a debit card. All you need to do is show your Woolworths credit card to a representative.
- By mail. Send a cheque to DEFT Payment Systems, GPO 4690 Sydney NSW 2001. Cheques must be made payable to Card Services and include your 16 digit credit card number. Allow up to five business days for the cheque to be processed. You may also have to account for the time it takes for the cheque to be delivered in the post.
Can I use my Everyday Credit Card at any ATM?
Yes. You can use your card to withdraw cash at any ATM worldwide that carries the MasterCard or PLUS logos. Cash withdrawals from ATMs are charged interest at the cash advance interest rate and will be charged from the withdrawal date.
What happens if my credit card is about to expire?
Two weeks before your old card is about to expire a new card will be sent out to you in the mail. If, for whatever reason, you don’t get your card, you need to call Woolworths Customer Service on 1300 10 1234.
How do I find out my credit limit on my Woolworths credit card?
Your credit limit is how much money Woolworths will allow you to spend on your card. They use a calculation of your income, assets, debts and liabilities to find out how much you could afford to repay.
You can request a specific credit limit or you can request the maximum amount of credit you can get. If you want more credit, request a credit limit increase. Each request for more credit is judged by the same criteria, so don't expect to be granted more credit if you've taken the maximum amount and your circumstances have not changed.

How do I get an additional card for a family member?
There's the option of applying for an additional cardholder during the online application for a Woolworths credit card. This can also be done after the application by downloading an additional cardholder application from the Woolworths website.
Each Woolworths credit card may allow you to get a different number of additional cardholders. You can find out more on our review pages. Supplementary cardholders must be over the age of 16 and an Australian resident. If you have a family member who is over the age of 18, they can also apply for a Woolworths credit card in their own name, providing they meet the eligibility requirements.
What do I do if I lose my card or it's stolen?
Report a lost or stolen card immediately to Customer Service on 1300 10 1234. Do this right away otherwise you may be liable for charges on the card if someone else tries to use it.
If you're overseas call +612 8276 0144. A fee may be charged to get your credit card sent out to you.
Who is the credit issuer for Woolworths credit cards?
Woolworths credit cards are underwritten by Macquarie Bank. This shouldn’t be something you need to consider when applying for a Woolworths credit card. However, this will be factor if you’re looking to transfer a balance to a Woolworths credit card from an existing Macquarie Bank credit card. What’s the difference between Woolworths Credit Card and Woolworths Rewards Card?
The Woolworths Everyday Platinum and Qantas Platinum are products that operate as credit facilities. You can use them to finance your day-to-day purchases or as an emergency source of cash.
The Woolworths Rewards Card is a Woolworths product that you use to hold your fuel saving discounts, and earn Woolworths Rewards Points when you spend at Woolworths Group stores.
Existing Woolworths Rewards members can get more benefits by linking a Woolworths credit card to their account. You can do this by providing your Woolworths Rewards account details when you apply for the Woolworths credit card. This will allow you to get money off at the fuel pump when you swipe your credit card, earn Woolworths Rewards by scanning the back of your credit card and you get bonus points when you spend at Woolworths stores.
What is the Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard?
A prepaid MasterCard lets you spend your own money to shop online or in-store. They can be used everywhere Mastercard is accepted.
They're a budgeting tool that can also be used by people who have bad credit and want a hassle-free way to make electronic payments.
