Types of credit cards from Woolworths

Woolworths offers two different reward credit cards. The Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card earns Qantas Points for your spending, while the Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card earns points that are automatically converted to cashback rewards in the form of Woolworths Shopping Cards. Depending on when you apply, these cards could also include introductory balance transfer offers or purchase rate offers and other perks, which we've outlined below.

  • Balance transfer credit cards

Woolworths credit cards may come with 0% balance transfer offers for a promotional period, allowing you to repay your debts without the cost of interest. At the end of the introductory period, this 0% interest rate reverts to the standard variable interest rate for cash advances. Compare the offers in the comparison table and see how much money you can save on interest. Read our step-by-step guide to completing a balance transfer with Woolworths here.

  • Rewards credit cards

The Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card is a platinum card that earns reward points for cashback at the supermarket. With this card, you'll collect between 1 and 3 points for every $1 you spend on eligible purchases. Your points will automatically be converted to cashback in the form of a Woolworths Shopping Card every four months, with a minimum of 4,000 points equal to a $20 Shopping Card.

The Woolworths Everyday Platinum also includes complimentary purchase security insurance and exclusive discounts at Woolworths Group retailers.

Other benefits include complimentary travel insurance, a concierge service and exclusive discounts at Woolworths Group retailers. Remember, you can also earn additional Qantas Points per $1 spent when you link your Woolworths Rewards account to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account and opt-in to earn Qantas Points for your shopping at Woolworths.

Standard and platinum Woolworths credit cards

If you're approved for a credit limit of $6,000 or more, you'll be able to enjoy more benefits with a Woolworths Everyday Platinum and Woolworths Qantas Platinum credit card. But if you're approved for a credit limit of less than $6,000, you will be issued with a Woolworths Everyday Card that does not offer platinum benefits.

  • Low rate and low fee credit cards

The Woolworths Everyday Platinum credit card offers a standard annual fee of $49 that's competitive when compared to other reward credit cards.

    Hi,

If I withdraw cash abroad and want to avoid paying interest. Can I just pay a lump sum off to my credit card before withdrawing the money? Thanks

      ArnoldJuly 30, 2017Staff

      Hi HH,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Any withdrawal from your account will be considered as a Cash Advance which will incur a fee amounting to $5 or 3% of the value of the transaction, whichever is the greater, applies to each cash advance made on your account, debited to your account at the time of the cash advance.
Please you’ll still be charged cash advanced FEE but not cash advance interest

      Hope this information helped.

      Cheers,
      Arnold

      Hi BF,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

If you applied for a Woolworths credit card but didn’t hear anything about your application, call the Customer Service team on 1300 10 1234 and follow the prompts to speak to a representative. You may also want to check the junk folder in your email as it can sometimes get tagged as spam.

I hope this information has helped.

    • finder Customer Care
      LouJune 24, 2016Staff

      Hi Donna,

      Thanks for your question.

Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services but excluding returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do not include balance transfers, cash advances, cash substitutes and transactions for gambling purposes.

I have recently upgraded from Gold to Black and was told that I could continue using the old card until it expires. This seems to defeat the object of upgrading as I will only use the Black card in future. Will I be paying two monthly subscriptions until the old card expires even though I am not using it? Also, what happens to my existing accumulated reward points? Thank you.

    • finder Customer Care
      JonathanMay 13, 2016Staff

Hi John, thanks for your inquiry.

With credit card upgrades generally the old card is no longer effective when the new card arrives. There should not be any duplication resulting in paying two monthly subscriptions as both cards are under the one credit card account. Existing accumulated reward points will still remain on your account. For more information regarding your upgrade it would be best to contact Woolworths directly on 1300 10 1234.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,

      Jonathan

      SallyFebruary 26, 2016Staff

      Hi Debra,

      Thanks for your question.

Just to confirm, you have come through to finder.com.au not Woolworths. If you began your application, there should’ve been an option to save it so you could continue working on it later if you needed to. If not, you might need either contact Woolworths directly to confirm whether you can continue your application or whether you need to start again.

      Cheers,

      Sally
