Pay $17.50 for the first 3 months and avoid stressing out about excess data charges again.

Hop aboard the latest Finder exclusive and get yourself the cheapest unlimited data mobile plan around.

felix mobile has slashed its prices down to $17.50 for the first 3 months. Even after the discount runs out, the price remains favourable at $35 per month.

This is better value than the current offer on felix's website which gives you the first month free.

If you were to compare the 2 promotions, signing up via Finder would save you an additional $17.50.

You can find out more on how the exclusive offer works here.

So what's on offer?

Signing up with felix also means you get:

  • To support a 100% carbon neutral provider (it also plants a tree for every active subscription).
  • A referral discount for you and your friends.
  • The option to pause your subscription whenever you want.
  • An app to manage your account and chat to customer support.
  • Digital only support service (though this may not be everyone's preference).

This offer ends 14 December.

What is great about felix's unlimited data mobile plan?

The real standout here is felix's price. It stands up a lot better than the only other unlimited data plan on the market from Vodafone.

Vodafone charges a hefty $85 per month in comparison (excluding any discounts).

But Vodafone has the advantage of running at full 4G mobile speeds, which average around 39Mbps.

felix caps its speeds at 20Mbps.

What is 20Mbps like?

While the maximum speed on felix is about half of what you'd get with Vodafone, these speeds are still fast enough for most of your mobile needs.

We tested felix's mobile plan and found that you can still browse, stream, use social media and more with 20Mbps speeds. You just won't be able to watch 4K content or download heavy files frequently (but you can connect to Wi-Fi for that!).

Is there a catch with felix's mobile plan?

Again, you should keep in mind that your speeds will be capped at 20Mbps.

Other than that, felix runs on the Vodafone network. Out of the 3 major telcos, Telstra and Optus being the other 2, Vodafone offers the least amount of coverage.

This shouldn't be an issue for anyone living in a metro area. However, those in rural and regional Australia should double check signal strength at their property before signing up.

The bottom line

If you're looking for an unlimited data mobile plan to avoid worrying about blown out monthly bills, we reckon felix makes a solid case for itself.

Vodafone, Optus and Telstra do offer "endless data" plans but speeds are mostly capped at a low 1.5Mbps once you cross your data allowance.
