You may have come across iPrimus as a broadband provider before, but these days, it also sells phone plans. You can get between 40 and 100GB each month, all on the Optus 4G network.
Highlights
iPrimus may only have three plans to choose from, but all of them are packed with data and run month to month, so you can switch whenever you want.
iPrimus has a choice of three different mobile plans, available month to month:
If you exceed your data cap, you'll be charged for extra data at the rate of $5 per 1GB. iPrimus generally only accepts direct debit payments and will charge you $2.95 per bill for other payment methods.
iPrimus currently has no price promotions on its mobile plans. It does have a bundling discount available though. If you're already an iPrimus broadband customer, you can get a $5 monthly discount on your mobile plan.
You may know iPrimus better as a broadband or television provider, but it also has a handful of mobile plans with decent value. They're extremely simple, with only a couple of features:
Here's a quick summary of what iPrimus offers:
Feature | |
---|---|

Entertainment extras | ![]() |

If you're looking for a decent chunk of data and don't care about extra features, iPrimus offers good value on its three plans. It's basic, but compares well to the other providers.
If you don't need quite that much data each month, consider a provider like Moose or Vaya.
To see how iPrimus stacks up against the competition, we've placed its $40 Small plan against similar ones from Optus (its network provider) and Vaya (another provider on the Optus network).
iPrimus | Optus | Vaya | |
---|---|---|---|
Plan name | Small SIM only | Small Optus Choice | $36 SIM only |
Plan cost | $40 | $39 | $36 |
Data allowance | 40GB | 10GB | 38GB |
Data per dollar value | $1.00 per 1GB | $3.90 per 1GB | $0.95 per 1GB |
Features | International minutes | Data sharing, 5G access | None |
iPrimus compares extremely well to the competition, offering way more value than Optus and a similar amount to Vaya. None of these three have any standout features accompanying their plans, so iPrimus comes out as a competitive choice.
All of iPrimus's plans come with between 300 and 1,000 international talk minutes, allowing you to make calls to 35 countries. You also get unlimited SMS and MMS to the same 35 countries on all plans.
