Here are some of the key benefits you can get with a Bankwest credit card:

Digital card

You can activate your Bankwest card and view your account details through the Bankwest app as soon as your application is approved thanks to the digital card feature. This gives you a way to start using your account while you wait for the physical card to come in the mail.

Temporary card lock

If you've lost your card or want to block transactions at any time, you can put a temporary lock on your credit card through the Bankwest app, online banking or by calling Bankwest on 13 17 19.

Worldwide emergency card replacement

If you're overseas, you can report your card as lost, stolen or damaged and request a replacement through the Bankwest mobile app or by calling Mastercard on +1 636 722 7111. You can also use the digital card by logging into the Bankwest app.

Bankwest Platinum and World credit cards - travel insurance

With an eligible Bankwest Platinum or World Mastercard, you can get access to complimentary overseas travel insurance when you meet the eligibility requirements. Your spouse and/or children can also get cover if they meet the eligibility requirements. As with any insurance, there are different conditions and requirements, so make sure you read the insurance policy document on the Bankwest website for full details.

    Gay I’m having surgery and I’m thinking of purchasing a credit card to pay for this and some additional bills while of work will i be charged the purchase rate or cash advance rate as ive never had a credit card.

      Thanks for your question. You may want to read this beginner’s guide to credit cards for some basic information.

      You will have to check with the hospital and doctors as to whether they will treat the transaction as a purchase or as a cash advance.

    Why, after I closed my account by paying the full amount owing on 20 Feb 2013 – as instructed by Bankwest staff – do I get another statement with a ‘renewal fee’

    As far as I am concerned this account is closed effective payment date.

      Hi John. Please contact Bankwest as soon as possible. It may be that there was a small charge left on the account, which prevented the account from being closed. Anecdotal evidence has shown that this has happened in the past. Jacob.
