Hi Cheryl,
If you set direct debits up with your provider for bill payments using your Bankwest Qantas card you can earn points on those transactions, provided the biller supports credit cards as a payment method. For instance, if you have a direct debit set up with Netflix and your credit card is the payment method, that should earn points. Unfortunately, Bankwest Qantas credit card holders do not earn Qantas Points on any BPAY payments. Hope this helps!

Is this a typo? $35000 seems excessive. 100,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend $35,000 on eligible purchases within the first 5 months

Hey Mark,
It’s a lot! But it’s not a typo. I confirmed it on the Bankwest page.

Am I right in thinking that a free Qantas credit of $450 came with the Bankwest More World Mastercard card and is now not the case or have I made that up?

What is the definition of “eligible purchase”? Does that include purchasing a car at a dealer?

Hi Lin,
Yes, this meets the definition of eligible purchases. Usually, ineligible purchases include things like online gambling, cash advances, fees and charges, balance transfers and BPay transactions. Hope this helps!
