Hi Hayley, The 0% offer runs for 6 months from when the card is issued. If you want a few months at 0 interest after your April trip you’d likely want to apply in January or February – you wouldn’t want to wait until the last minute, as you need to allow time for the card to be issued and also need to have time to apply for something else if you don’t meet the income requirements. Hope this helps.

How long does the application process take?

Hi Nicky, Filling out the form doesn’t take too long, provided you have the relevant details to hand (proof of identity and income being the key ones). You can pause and save the application during the process.

Hi I am a self funded retiree and intend travelling overseas in September for a month.
As I no longer work do I qualify for the Bank West Zero Platinum Mastercard?
Many thanks

Hi Moira,
BankWest will want evidence that you have the income or capacity to make repayments and you can afford the debt. As a self-funded retiree, you might be able to provide evidence in the form of bank statements, tax returns or investment documentation.
Hope this helps!

Hi, can I apply if I’m self-employed?

Hi Michael,
The bank will assess your application based on your verified income. You can definitely apply if you are self-employed, but they will generally want to see 2 years worth of tax returns to verify your income.
Hope this helps!

When does the 0% purchase rate offer end? I’m looking for a travel credit card with low rates for travel in April 2025, so want to get it as close as possible to the travel date to take advantage of the 6 months at 0%
