What benefits will you get with American Express Experiences?

  • Access to reserved tickets
You can use your American Express credit card to purchase reserved tickets to some of the hottest events, theatre shows or concerts. For example, in 2019, American Express offered reserved tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for selected show dates in May 2020, which could be booked until the allocation was exhausted.
  • Pre-sale ticket opportunities
Secure concert tickets before the general public with American Express Experiences pre-sales. Usually, you’ll be required to pay with your American Express credit card and enter a promotional code to access the tickets.
  • Potential discounts on tickets
You can also enjoy discounts on ticket prices to select events.
  • Pay with points options
You can use your Membership Rewards points to pay for tickets booked through Ticketmaster. All you need to do is purchase the tickets using your American Express credit card and you can select your Membership Rewards points to cover all or some of the cost.
  • Dining offers in Australia
American Express has partnered with TheFork to offer you exclusive perks at listed restaurants around Australia. The offers available vary from complimentary entrees to wine or even discounts on your food. You can search for restaurants and offers, or read more about the partnership on TheFork website.
  • American Express Dining
Foodies can enjoy access to over 400 selected restaurants around the world with this global dining programme. All you need to do is visit the American Express Dining website (based in the UK) and click on the region you'll be visiting to view the list of participating restaurants. To claim an offer, just let the restaurant know you're an American Express cardholder and use your Amex credit card to pay for your next meal. If you do this, you’ll enjoy one of three perks: a complimentary bottle of wine, an appetiser or 20% off the food bill.
  • Competitions
American Express Experiences sometimes hosts competitions that are only available to AMEX cardholders. For example, in 2019, American Express Experiences offered cardholders the chance to win a trip for two to Coachella in 2020.

American Express Entertainment Lounges

This perk gives you a way to avoid crowds and relax before your next event in one of the three American Express Entertainment Lounges in Australia. Simply show your American Express card at the door and you (and up to three guests) can enjoy comfy seating while ordering food and drinks that will be brought straight to where you are sitting.

Currently, there are two American Express Experiences Lounges in Sydney – one at Qudos Bank Arena and one at the First State Super Theatre – as well as a lounge at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. If you use your Amex card to spend $15 or more at one of these venues, you'll also get a free bottle of water with your purchase. All lounges are open from the time the main venue doors open and can be accessed until the start of the headline act on the night, subject to lounge capacity.
