Enjoy 'Your Choice' with a Regional Australia Bank credit card

Regional Australia Bank came into effect after the merger of Orana Credit Union and New England Credit Union in 2008. A merger with Hunter Mutual followed in 2010. Regional Australia Bank now represents these three regional credit unions that have come together to form a strong regionally-based financial institution.

With around 70,000 members and assets of about $1 billion, this financial institution is the nation’s largest inland credit union. It has 29 branches, from Tenterfield in the north to Singleton in the south, and from Cobar in the west to Walcha in the east. It offers its members a the range of financial products and services you'd expect from a bank.

  • Low rate credit cards

If you’re the type of credit card user who does not pay outstanding balances in full each month you can benefit by getting a low rate card. The Your Choice Credit Card that you can get through Regional Australia Bank charges a low ongoing rate, and if you pay your balances in full each month, you can get up to 55 interest-free days on purchases. In addition, unlike many other cards that charge higher cash advance rates, this card charges the same interest rate for purchases and cash advances. Keep in mind it attracts a nominal annual fee.

Irrespective of which of the three credit unions you deal with, you get the same credit union benefits. This applies when you get a Regional Australia Bank credit card as well.

  • Freedom of usage

You can use the Your Choice Credit Card to make purchases in regular brick-and-mortar establishments, and you can use it to pay bills and make purchases, both online and over the phone. For cash advances, simply turn to any ATM that displays the Visa logo.

  • Card security

Regional Australia Bank Visa cardholders benefit from the latest in technology. Your new Visa credit card makes use of microchip technology, and Verified by Visa, an online program that works behind the scenes when you use this card online, tracking transactions for unusual activity.
