Benefits of the Bank of Melbourne Amplify Platinum Credit Card

  • Bonus points offer. Apply by 4 January 2017, get approved and spend $2,500 on eligible purchases within the first 90 days from card approval to be eligible for the 30,000 bonus points offer.
  • 0% p.a. for 18 months on balance transfers for new applicants. A balance transfer allows you to take the balance from an established credit card and move it to your Amplify Platinum Credit Card. You can now have 18 months to pay down your debt at the promotional rate of 0% p.a. At the end of the introductory period, a revert standard purchase rate will apply.
  • 1% p.a. for 12 months on purchases. Bank of Melbourne Amplify Platinum Credit Card comes with an introductory interest rate of 1% p.a. for 12 months on purchases. Offer ends on 4 January 2017.
  • Choose between two rewards programs Amplify Rewards or Amplify Qantas. Earn 1 Amplify Point or 0.5 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible transactions, uncapped. When making overseas purchases, you'll earn 2 points per $1 spent on Amplify Rewards and 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent.
  • Annual fee. Bank of Melbourne Amplify Platinum attracts an annual fee of $0 in the first year. The standard annual fee of $99 will be charged thereafter.
  • Travel insurance. A lot can go wrong when you travel. Travel insurance through your Amplify card can help protect you from problems including flight delay and missed connections. This will give you peace of mind when you travel on holiday, whether for personal or business purposes.
  • Extended warranties. When you purchase certain items that come with a manufacturer's warranty with your Amplify Platinum card, you will get an extended warranty that will come into effect when the manufacturer's warranty ends. This is helpful with larger purchases that can be costly to fix or replace.
  • Purchase protection. If a newly-purchased item gets damaged or stolen, purchase protection through your Amplify card can help you get a reimbursement or pay for repairs on the item as long as the claim falls within a certain time frame after the original purchase date.
  • Earn up to 55 days of interest-free purchases. When you pay off your credit card's balance by a designated date, you'll be eligible to receive up to 55 days interest-free on purchases. This means you'll only have to worry about paying off the cost of the items instead of that plus the interest rate.
You won't only be saving money on the interest but you'll be paying down your credit card debt faster which will help you get to another interest-free period.
  • Earn more rewards points. Since you won't have to pay interest on purchases made, you may choose to make more purchases than normal since you earn rewards points for every dollar you spend on your credit card.
