ANZ partners with Garmin Pay

ANZ credit and debit customers can now tap and pay with their Garmin smartwatches.
ANZ has added another alternative to its contactless payments arsenal this morning. From today, ANZ customers can now use their Garmin smartwatches to make contactless payments.
So whether you’re going out for a run or heading to the gym, you won’t have to lug your purse or bag with you to make purchases. Just use your Garmin smartwatch to tap and pay wherever contactless payments are accepted.
If you’ve already got a Garmin smartwatch, you’ll need to follow a few steps to set up Garmin Pay. First, you’ll need to download the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your compatible iOS or Android device. Then go to settings in the app and select Garmin Pay. You’ll then be asked to set up a 4-digit passcode and follow the prompts to create and secure your wallet. You can then add your eligible ANZ card to your wallet and then you’ll be ready to tap away.
If you’re worried about the security of paying with Garmin Pay, don’t be. Your purchases will be protected by the same security precautions as your other purchases thanks to ANZ Falcon and the ANZ Fraud Money Back Guarantee.
Garmin Pay now joins a gamut of other digital wallets supported by ANZ, including Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay.
“The wearables market continues to grow with more than 26 million devices shipped worldwide in the third quarter of 2017 alone, so we know our customers will appreciate the ability to pay on their Garmin device,” said ANZ managing director products Bob Belan.
This isn’t Garmin Pay’s first partnership with a big bank either. It also partnered with CommBank in September.
