What you need to know:
- ANZ credit cards with complimentary international travel insurance offer comprehensive cover for up to 3 or 6 consecutive months when you travel overseas.
- You'll get cover when you meet the requirements before travelling, noting cover is usually only available to those aged under 81.
- Your spouse and dependants travelling with you can also get cover, but there are some requirements and exclusions.

I qualify for the complimentary insurance (according to the above criteria), but do I have to do something to activate the policy?
Hi Anh,
Thanks for getting in touch with Finder. I hope all is well with you. 😃
If you believe you qualified for the complimentary insurance and have met the eligibility requirement, the cover will automatically activate before your trip. However, if you want to confirm or you have questions about the requirements, you may call Allianz on 1300 135 271. You can also go to ANZ’s website and use their eligibility tool to see if you’re covered.
I hope this helps. Should you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach us out again.
Have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Joshua
What is the maximum days this insurance will cover for? We will be out of the country under three months, are we covered?
Hi Brigitte,
Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.
The ANZ credit card complimentary travel insurance cover begins on the day you depart your home in Australia and ends on your return or after six months of travel, whichever happens first.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Jeni
Am I cover for airfare loss due to ill health cancellation?
Hi David,
Thank you for visiting Finder and for leaving a question.
Yes, the complimentary travel insurance supplied by ANZ covers airfare loss if cancellation is due to an illness or injury. You must provide Allianz the documentation from your treating doctor to confirm that you are medically unfit to commence or continue with your trip. You will not be paid for cancellation or trip deferment costs unless the costs are medically justified. And if you have already commenced your trip you must have a consent from Allianz.
Hope this helps! You can contact us back should you need further assistance. 😊
Kind Regards,
Mai
I am cruising to NZ 3-17 November 2019 with Princess Cruises. I have paid my deposit of $1200 using my ANZ Platinum Visa credit card. Please confirm that I qualify and will have level 1 travel insurance.
Hi Nancye,
Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.
Since the amount you have paid for with your ANZ Platinum Visa credit card exceeds the spending requirement to be eligible for the complimentary travel insurance, you may then qualify. However you need to make sure that you met the key conditions mentioned on this page like your age, return ticket to Australia and so on.
If you need further assistance on complimentary travel insurance, please contact Allianz directly.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Jeni
Partner and I are about to sign up for three weeks in NZ. Have used platinum card for travel insurance for a long time. Partner turned 80, 11 August 2018 thus exceeding the standard age range. Can she be covered through an extension to the standard cover and if so what are your requirements and extra costs?
Hi David,
Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.
Since ANZ Credit Card Complimentary Travel Insurance is underwritten by Allianz Australia Insurance, kindly contact them on getting a cover for your partner who is travelling with you. Their number is listed above this page.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Jeni
