The Amplify credit card is Bank of Melbourne’s entry-level rewards credit card. It’s one of the few credit cards on the market that combines a 0% purchase interest rate offer with a rewards program.

While it doesn’t offer bonus points or as competitive earn rates as some other cards, it does charge a lower annual fee than some other more premium frequent flyer offers.

How to apply

You can apply for the Bank of Melbourne Amplify credit card online in 10 minutes and receive a response instantly.

Eligibility criteria

  • Age. This card is only available to applicants who are at least 18 years of age.

    Hi, please clarify –

if we apply today and its take 10 days to approve, after the 23rd, does this mean we miss out on the Balance transfer.

Both comments relating to this are contradictory. See below. Under Promo info it simply state that we have to apply, not also approved to be eligible for the balance transfer @ 0% for 16 months,

Apply before the 23 September 2015 – To be eligible for the balance transfer offer with the Bank of Melbourne Amplify Credit Card, you need to apply and get approved for the account before the 23 September 2015.

    Promotional purchase rate

0% p.a. on purchases for 3 months – Apply by 23 September 2015 and you won’t pay any interest on purchases you make with the card for 3 months. The standard purchase rate will apply to any outstanding balance after the 90-day period.

Hi Indigo, thanks for your inquiry.

We can confirm that you may still be able to avail the promotional balance transfer rate, provided that you have requested an application to transfer balances from existing credit cards and if your application is submitted before 23 September 2015. The introductory purchase rate of 0% for 3 months is also available if you apply before 23 September 2015.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,

      Jonathan

In your terms and conditions, 3.2 says: Subject to the exclusions set out in clause 4.4, under Amplify Rewards, Amplify points are earned whenever goods or services are purchased using a Card or
the Card Account. So – if i apply for this card and add an additional cardholder, do the purchases made by the additional card qualify to earn Amplify Rewards points on the primary cardholders account (if I choose that option) and is there a fee payable (annual or otherwise)in order for those additional card purchases to qualify. Thanks

Hi Kerry. Thanks for your question. You’re correct with what you say about the additional cardholder earning points for the primary card account. The way it works is once you have an additional cardholder added to an account, the supplementary card will earn points on the primary account when an eligible purchase is made with the card. There is no fee for adding an additional cardholder to this account (you can have one additional cardholder) and there is no fee for allowing this card to earn points to the primary account. Let me know if this has answered your question and whether you need more information. Jacob.

Hi Christine. Thanks for your question. Provided that you meet the minimum income requirements for this card, there should be no issues if you’ve never owned a credit card before.
