I keep getting charged for interest on my purchases even though my card is advertised as having 55 days interest free. I pay the balance every month, that is, when I get my bill, I pay the whole amount, about 11 months out of twelve in a year. Can you explain why I am paying interest on my purchases?

Hi Tess. Thanks for your question. This shouldn’t be the case. If you’re paying the entire balance in full each month and you’re not carrying a balance from month to month, then you should receive interest free days on purchases made with the card. You may need to explain your situation to the lender directly. If there has been a mistake made with your account, you may be able to request that the funds be credited back to your account. Sorry we can’t be of more assistance with this topic. Jacob.

      Hi Marion

I would check with the provider of the Visa Gold card to check if you meet their application criteria.

      Cheers

Does the Qantas frequent flyer account need to be in the name of the credit card account holder?

      Hi Kristy

      Thanks for your comment!

A cardholder may only earn points for one rewards account which must be in the same name as the corresponding Qantas Frequent Flyer account and the primary cardholder name.

      Cheers,
      Jeremy
