Credit card instalment plans

Coles credit cards offer three types of instalment plans, which give you a way to pay off your credit card balance over a set period of time, with fixed monthly repayments that can make it easier to budget. The options available depend on the type of spending or balance and are subject to eligibility.

PlanDescription
Statement instalmentsConvert retail purchases from your closing balance into a structured payment plan, with a minimum of $500 and monthly instalment repayments.
Transaction instalmentsConvert new shopping to a payment plan before it shows up on your statement. You can do this with any eligible purchase over $50.
Cash instalmentsAccess a minimum of $500 and up to 90% of your available credit limit as cash for bills, study or anything else you need and pay it off in instalments. This option is similar to a small personal loan, but make sure you check the rates and fees so you know how much it will cost before you get it.

You can check if you're eligible for an instalment plan by calling Coles Mastercard on 1300 066 985. Once a plan is set up, you'll see details on your credit card statement. Learn more about using instalment plans on a credit card to see if they'll work for you.

I abhor paying bank fees. If I take out a Coles no fee Platinum Mastercard and pay the balance BEFORE the due date will this card attract any fees

      Hi Chris,

      Thanks for your comment.

You won’t be charged a fee if you pay back any balances before the due date, it’s only if you haven’t paid your balance before the due date that you’ll be charged interest.

      Cheers,
      Shirley

Can I pay my account with my debit Card over the phone?

      Hi, Kathleen.

      Thanks for your question.

You can pay your account through a direct debit agreement set up from your debit card account, with BPAY through your internet banking facility from a debit or savings account. You can also pay your account at Australia Post or you can mail a cheque. They do not list debit payments over the phone as an accepted payment method.

      I hope this helps.

      Hi Mary.

Thanks for getting in touch with us about your question.

If you would like to view your card balance including statements and transaction history, you’ll need to register your account with Coles online banking. You may have to give a Coles MasterCard customer service representative a call to register your account.

      I hope this helps.

      Hi Maddy.

      Thanks for your question.

This card can be used wherever MasterCard cards are accepted. This is in millions of locations around the world and includes most Australian merchants that accept a credit card.

      I hope this helps.

If I don’t have an Australian Passport, but a permanent resident visa, can I verify ID online? Because only medicare and driver license are not enough for the verification.

    Thx

      Hi Yudi.

      Thanks for your question.

A driver’s licence with your current address should be enough to verify your identity online.

If you apply for a card and you can’t verify your identity online, you need to supply one of these forms of identification:

      Primary Identification Documents
      • Australian Driver Licence (current)
      • Australian Learner Permit (current)
      • Australian Passport (not expired more than 2 years)
      • Foreign Passport (current)
      • Proof of Age Card/NSW Photo Card (current and government issued)
      • Centrelink Pension Card (current)

If one of the above forms of identification does not have your residential address listed, you will need to supply a secondary form of documentation:
      Secondary Identification Documents
      • Utility Bill or Council Rates Notice
      (less than 3 months old)
      • Taxation Notice or Centrelink Statement
      (less than 12 months old)
