Youi Roadside Assistance review

Youi Roadside Assistance is included in its comprehensive policies, helping many drivers save on costs. See how it compares.

Our verdict

Pros

  • Youi Roadside Assistance is included in their comprehensive policies, so there's no need to hold both car insurance and roadside assistance.
  • It still has decent coverage, removing the need for additional roadside assistance for many people.
  • It's convenient to have your car insurance and your roadside assistance all in the one policy.

Cons

  • It covers you for two callouts per year, whereas other roadside assistance policies have unlimited callouts.
  • You can't purchase Youi Roadside Assistance with other products like third party car insurance. It's only available as part of the comprehensive car and/or motorcycle insurance policy.

How Youi Roadside Assistance works

Youi Roadside Assistance is included with your car or motorcycle comprehensive insurance. This means you don't need to do anything to activate the roadside assistance, aside from paying your insurance premium. You also don't need to 'add' it or 'opt in' to it on your policy, it'll be included as standard. There is no option to not include it in exchange for a cheaper premium.

You'll have access to two callouts per year, and if you need more, you'll just need to pay a fee.

Need to hold a car policy?* refers to whether or not you must hold a car insurance policy with the provider before you have access to their roadside assistance services. We've included this because some roadside assistance policies are standalone, others are only available as add-ons to car insurance policies.
Pricing is accurate as of February 2025.

Our expert says

"When I took out my Youi comprehensive car insurance I was able to cancel my RACQ roadside assist membership at the same time, because this covered me. I saved over $100 on my membership and when I've called for roadside assist (twice so far!), the wait time was quick and the service was excellent."
