Finder's verdict
"Allianz and AAMI are pretty dependable insurers with solid coverage. AAMI has a few benefits with higher limits than Allianz but if you care about having a choice of repairer, Allianz would be a better fit. We also ran a few quotes and our research suggests AAMI is cheaper on average. Everyone's circumstances are slightly different so it's worth getting a quote from both to see who is best for you."

How Does AAMI as overall insurers with RACV
Hi Ken, if you’re wondering how AAMI compares to RACV then I’ve put a quick analysis of their comprehensive policies below.
In terms of coverage offered, RACV is a bit more thorough. You can pay a bit extra to get your own choice of repairer if you like and key/lock replacements are covered. AAMI doesn’t offer choice of repairer or key replacement.
However, AAMI offers roadside assistance as an optional add on, RACV does not.
What’s best for you here will depend on what features you care for more. If you’ve got any specific features in mind, let me know and I’d be happy to share some suggestions.
In terms of pricing, our research shows that RACV is typically more expensive than AAMI. We found that there’s often a few hundred dollars difference between the two so it’s definitely worth getting your own quotes and comparing the difference.
I’d say; if you care for more features and are happy to pay a bit more – RACV is worth considering. If you’re more concerned about keeping costs lower and don’t mind not having access to a choice of repairer or key replacement then AAMI might be a better bet for you.
I hope this helps!
