Important information

The Latitude ECO Mastercard is no longer available for new applications. However, we’ve kept the information online for the benefit of existing customers and for those who are interested. You can compare the current range of Latitude Financial Services credit cards here.

While it no longer exists, the Latitude ECO Mastercard used to offer competitive rates and fees. The credit card also offered extra features like balance transfers and interest-free days, in addition of the normal benefits of a Mastercard. This card is not available anymore but there are a number of other credit cards still offered by Latitude.

The ECO Mastercard also offered a program that bought carbon offsets in the cardholder's name through the Origin's Carbon Reduction Scheme. This was the first credit card in Australia to offer this kind of benefit. The offsets helped fund things like renewable energy, water treatment, and reforestation.

Features of the Latitude Eco Mastercard

  • Competitive interest rates. The ECO Mastercard had an interest rate of 22.49% p.a. on purchases and a 22.49% p.a. interest rate on cash advances. Unlike other credit cards that have variable interest rates, this credit card offered a fixed interest rate so you would always know what your repayments would be each billing cycle.
  • Fees and charges. The ECO MasterCard had a competitive annual fee of $49 that covered all of the additional features that the card offered. There were no establishment fees or ongoing account-keeping fees associated with the ECO MasterCard, which saved you money in the long run.
  • Interest-free days. Latitude offered you up to 55 days of interest-free purchases. This allowed you to enjoy using your MasterCard without having to worry about paying interest on the items. In order to get these days, you had to pay off the remaining balance on your credit card. For the purchases to remain interest-free, you also had to pay off the balance before the designated period ends.
  • Balance transfer options. Latitude also allowed you to transfer the balance of another credit card to your ECO MasterCard. This was a way to save money if your other credit card had a higher interest rate than this card. You would also benefit from consolidating your credit card debt into one bill instead of multiple bills. This offered a way for you to pay down your debt faster.
