Our verdict

Offers an impressive 200,000 bonus Velocity Points, hotel perks and unlimited airport lounge access, with a $700 annual fee.

The Citi Prestige is a top-tier rewards card suited to frequent travellers and big spenders. Right now, it offers 150,000 bonus Velocity Points when you apply and get approved, then spend $12,000 in the first 3 months from card approval and enrol in Points Autosweep, and 50,000 extra points when you keep your card open for over 12 months. This is one of the biggest bonus points offers on the market right now, and would be enough for $900 worth of Coles Supermarket gift cards (195,100 points for four $200 gift cards and two $50 gift cards) based on details publicly listed on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.

Pros

  • Up to 200,000 bonus Velocity Points
  • Unlimited access to over 1,500 airport lounges through Priority Pass
  • Airport transfer service and 4th night free hotel offers
  • Discounts available at select hotels
  • Complimentary international travel insurance

Cons

  • The $700 annual fee is high
  • 22.49% p.a. interest rate for purchases
  • 3.4% foreign transaction fee
  • Offers 44 days interest-free on purchases, compared to other cards that offer up to 55 days
