Transport Health could be good if you don't want to be overwhelmed by choice and want either basic or comprehensive extras cover.

Pros

  • In 2014 Transport Health changed from a fund restricted to the transport industry to one open to all Australians.
  • It comes with clear and simple hospital and extras policy options.

Cons

  • It only comes with 2 extras options. That means you won't be overwhelmed by choice but some funds do offer more

Transport health insurance: Our verdict

Transport is a not-for-profit health fund which means the money it makes goes back towards its members.

Transport is good if:

  • Good for making a simple, easy-to-understand choice.
  • Good for mix and matching hospital and extras to meet your needs.

Transport is not great if:

  • You want lots of extras options to choose from.
