Expert review

The Great Southern Bank Platinum is a rewards credit card that also comes with a very popular perk: complimentary international travel insurance. This gives you up to 4 months of cover when you use the card to pay for at least $500 worth of flights, accommodation or other eligible travel costs before you go away.

Making purchases with this card also earns you 1 point per $1 spent through the Great Southern Bank Platinum Rewards program. Similar to other credit card reward programs, this one offers a variety of gift cards, cashback on your account and retail items. You can also redeem your points for travel bookings made through the Redeem4Travel website. But, unlike some other rewards credit cards, it does not offer point transfers to frequent flyer programs.

Note that interest-free days are not available when you have a balance transfer debt.

      Hi Jess,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

The conversion of the CUA point to a frequent flyer point will depend on the FF program. Though transferring of your CUA points to FF points is not possible, you may be able to redeem them for flights with Qantas, Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines. To redeem, please visit the CUA Rewards website.
