The Diners Club Business Card earns 1 point per $1 on eligible transactions, which can be redeemed for rewards including cashback, gift cards and point transfers to 15 different airline loyalty programs – including Qantas Frequent Flyer.

This card has a $95 annual fee, $77 rewards fee and $80 additional card fee. It also gives you 51 days to pay in each statement period and can be used at over 35 million businesses, including Officeworks, Qantas, Woolworths, Coles and Dan Murphy’s.

How to apply

If you meet the eligibility requirements below, you can apply for a Diners Club Business Card by downloading and filling in an application from the Diners Club website. This can be emailed back to Diners Club at corporatenewapps@dinersclub.com.au or posted to Diners Club International at GPO BOX 40, Sydney NSW, 2001. To get started, check that you're eligible and have all the documents and details needed for the application.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum income. Each applicant must earn at least $35,000
Credit score. Each individual applying must have a good credit history and credit score.

Business details. The business should have a valid ABN, ARBN or ACN (whichever ones are applicable). It also must have been trading for at least 2 years.

Required documents

Business details. This includes the business name, ABN, ARBN or CAN, as well as a residential address, email address, number of employees, years in business and current monthly sales and expenditure details. You also need to provide details of your accountants or auditors as a reference.
Personal details. This covers your details as the primary application, including your full name, date of birth, residential address, income and other cards you currently have in your name.

Card benefits

Diners Club Rewards. This card earns 1 point per $1 spent on eligible transactions, including purchases and cash advances. Transactions that don't earn points include account fees and charges, liquidated damages and government charges. The points you earn can be redeemed through the Diners Club Rewards program for gift cards, cashback, frequent flyer point transfers and a range of other rewards.
No pre-set spending limit. As a charge card, you won't be issued with a set credit limit like you would be with a credit card. Instead, your spending power will be determined based on your estimated expenses and ongoing spending habits. Just keep in mind that you will need to pay back whatever you spend within the 51-day statement period.

Expense management tools. The Diners Club Business Card offers statements you can use instead of tax invoices when submitting expenses to the ATO, separated GST details for purchases, quarterly BAS (Business Activity Statement) reporting and online account access.
Airport lounge access. This card gives you access to airport lounges all around the world. Just show your Diners Club card and a valid boarding pass at participating lounges to get entry. Some lounges also offer guest entry, usually for a fee. You can search for participating lounges on the Diners Club website.
Complimentary insurance. For travel, this card gives you access to international travel insurance, interstate flight inconvenience insurance and transit accident insurance. For shopping, you get access to purchase cover, extended warranty insurance and a guaranteed pricing scheme when you buy eligible items. Make sure you read the insurance product disclosure statement provided by Diners Club for full details on when you're covered and how to make a claim.
Merchant search tool. If you're not sure where you can use a Diners Club card, the website has a search tool that lets you see all the different businesses and locations that accept Diners Club.

Rates & fees

Annual fee. This card has an annual fee of $95.
Rewards fee. An annual rewards fee of $77 applies for this account. In addition to the card's annual fee, this brings the yearly cost of the account to $172.

Additional cardholder fee. If you want to get cards for your employees, an additional cardholder fee of $80 applies for each card. In comparison, some other business credit and charge cards offer $0 additional cardholder fees.
51-day statement period. As a charge card, you don't pay interest on your balance but do need to pay the entire account off by the due date on each statement. With this card, you have 51 days from the start of your statement period to the payment due date.
Cash advances. If you use this card to withdraw cash from an ATM or over the counter, a fee of $4 or 4% (whichever is greater) applies.
