        Hi MBC2018,

Thank you for leaving a question.

You will usually receive a new card about ten days after you apply for it. The fastest credit card providers can get a new card to you within seven days. However, it can take longer and depends on how quickly your new provider processes your application. Hope this helps!

        Cheers,
        Reggie

If I buy a second hand car from a dealer/car yard, and I use my Coles Platinum MasterCard, does this qualify for the 2 points for every $1 spent? it says 2 points for every dollar spent of everyday spending, so is the car excluded?

      Thanks.

        Hi David,

        Thanks for your question.

Should your car company treat your transaction as a “purchase” you should earn points using your Coles Platinum Rewards Mastercard. According to Coles, eligible purchase is defined as any purchase excluding (but not limited to) Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, payments to other Citi accounts, bank fees and charges, transactions made using flybuys points and government related transactions.

        Cheers,

      Hi,

Is it double Flybuys when shopping via Coles online and making payment with Coles mastercard also?

      Thanks,

        JeniMarch 19, 2018Staff

        Hi Jay,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder. This credit card earns 2 flybuys points per $1 spent on everyday purchases, with no points cap. You can earn flybuys points for every dollar you spend with Coles, Liquorland, Kmart and Target (just to name a few). Once you’ve accumulated 2,000 points, you can redeem them for $10 off your shop at the Coles checkout.

        I hope this helps.

        Have a great day!

        Cheers,
        Jeni

Can I earn points making my ATO payments?

      • finder Customer Care
        RenchFebruary 14, 2018Staff

        Hi Ian,

        Thanks for your inquiry.

With Coles Platinum Rewards Mastercard, I’m afraid ATO payments is not included when earning flybuys points. flybuys points can be earned on eligible transactions except on:

Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, purchases of foreign currency and travelers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, payments to other Citi accounts, bank fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges, transactions made using flybuys Points and government-related transactions. Government related transactions include transactions with government or semi-government entities, or relating to services provided by or in connection with government (for example but not limited to transactions made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court-related costs).

Meantime, you can check this page to find out which credit cards earn rewards points when paying tax bill.

        Best regards,
        Rench

      (1) We do a lot of travel overseas. Are Coles aware of any countries where their Mastercard has not been accepted?

      (2) We are presently using an NAB Platinum Fly Buys Mastercard. How long once we apply should we receive a new Coles card?

      (3) Will we automatically start accruing Fly Buys points on the new Coles card or do we need to cancel the NAB card first?

      Thank you

        Hi Margaret,

        Thank you for your inquiry.

        (1) We do a lot of travel overseas. Are Coles aware of any countries where their Mastercard has not been accepted?
Typically, cards with MasterCard logo is accepted anywhere and so is the Coles MasterCard.

        (2) We are presently using an NAB Platinum Fly Buys Mastercard. How long once we apply should we receive a new Coles card?
Depending on how fast you can provide Coles with your complete requirements, your application may also be actioned immediately. But generally, credit card applications would take 1-2 weeks to be processed.

        (3) Will we automatically start accruing Fly Buys points on the new Coles card or do we need to cancel the NAB card first?
Once you are approved for the Coles MasterCard and use it on eligible purchases, you’d automatically start earning flybuys points without even cancelling your NAB account. Moreover, even if you will also use your existing NAB Platinum Flybuys Mastercard, you’d still earn flybuys on it. It’s upon your discretion as to whether you should close or not and when you would have to cancel your NAB account. At any time that your credit card has no outstanding balance, you can actually close your account.

        Cheers,
        May

Why do you say there’s an annual $89 fee on platinum? there is no such fee now. I just got a platinum card and on the letter it clearly says “Coles No Annual Fee Platinum Mastercard”

      Why is finder.com.au spreading misinformation!?

        Hi Andrew,

        Thank you for your enquiry.

Please note that there are two types of Coles Platinum credit cards, there’s Coles Platinum Rewards MasterCard, which comes with the annual fee of $89 p.a. and there’s Coles Platinum No Annual Fee MasterCard, which does not have an annual fee.

Please check out this link for a comparison of different Coles credit cards.

      1. I had platinum rewards MasterCard,IS it means I spend $100 in coles and pay by credit card I can earn 100+200=300 points? I checked my flybuys points only had 100 points? My credit card already linked to my flybuys. Do you know what’s the problem?

      2. I spent $100 on eBay and also pay by my credit card ,after two days I checked I don’t receive any points from flybuys. Do you know what’s the problem? do I need to wait how many days in the normal?

        Hi Hugo,

        Thanks for your inquiry.

        1. Coles Platinum Rewards MasterCard actually lets you earn 2 flybuys points for every $1 spent on eligible purchases anywhere. Eligible purchases exclude cash advances, credit fees or charges, credits, refunds, reimbursements, business purchases or balance transfers into your account.

        2. It can take up to four weeks before the flybuys points are processed and credited to your account. So it could be possible that your other flybuys points are still not yet credited to your account.

Hope this has answered your questions.

        Cheers,
        May
