The BOQ Blue Visa credit card has a competitive balance transfer offer and also earns points for new purchases. With this type of card, you'll want to make sure you're not conflicted between paying down your debt and spending to earn points.

How to apply

You can apply for the BOQ Blue Visa credit card online, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and have the necessary information to complete the application.

Eligibility criteria

  • Income. You must earn at least $25,000 to apply for this card.
  • Eligible balance transfer debt. If you're planning to transfer a balance to the BOQ Low Rate, you can transfer up to 80% of your approved credit limit from non-Citigroup credit cards, store cards or loans.

Card benefits

  • Balance transfer offer. If you apply before 31 October 2020, you can save with 0% p.a. interest for 18 months on balance transfers (with no balance transfer fee). The balance transfer rate will revert to the variable cash advance rate of 21.74% p.a. at the end of the promotional period.
  • Q Rewards program. You'll earn 1 reward point per $1 spent on eligible purchases. Your points don't expire as long as your account is active and you can redeem your points for flights, hotels, car rental, gift cards and merchandise ranging from homewares and electronics to jewellery to from the Q Rewards website.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. This card charges a $60 p.a. annual fee.
  • Purchase interest rate. Your purchases will attract interest at the 20.74% p.a. interest rate if you do not pay your statement balance in full.

    I want to be able to compare the number of points required to purchase say a Myer gift card for $100 (or similar) with the various credit cards.

    I am trying to contact you regarding a Direct Debit a letter I just received said was dishonoured (not paid). What does this mean.
    I live most of the time in the United States in California and I do not have a phone number I can call you on as the “300” numbers do not work from here.
