Is it necessary to activate travel insurance cover for travel interstate on a platinum Visa card or is it automatically available?

      AnndyJuly 28, 2016Staff

      Hi Anthony,

      Thanks for your question.

The Domestic Flight Inconvenience Insurance cover attached to a Bendigo Platinum Visa Card is activated when you use your card to pay for the full value of the return domestic flight fare before the commencement of your flight.

      Cheers,

Is there an age limit. My husband is a healthy 75 year old.

    • Staff
      AnndyJune 14, 2016Staff

      Hi Jan,

      Thanks for your question.

If you are referring to the complimentary insurance coverage for this card, its terms and conditions states that they will not cover loss of any cause if “you are over seventy-five (75) years of age. This will not prejudice any entitlement to claim benefits which has arisen before you attain the age of seventy-six (76) years.”

In reference to the second sentence, I suggest that you directly contact Bendigo to verify if your husband is still covered.

      Cheers,
      Anndy

      Hi Ted,

      Thanks for your question.

The Bendigo Bank Platinum card does come with a rewards program, but it’s not connected with Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Instead you can redeem your points for merchandise from the Bendigo rewards online store.

You can compare credit cards with Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards programs here.

      I hope this has helped.

My wife and I are going overseas to the UK and are linking a 12 day cruise with the holiday. We are both seniors and I am searching travel insurance options. Is it worth my while to upgrade to Bendigo Platinum credit card and forget online insurance searching?

    • Staff
      JonathanSeptember 8, 2015Staff

      Hi Roger,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Please note that finder.com.au is an online comparison service and is not in a position to recommend specific products, providers and services. Please enquire with Bendigo Bank directly if you would like to apply for this card.

However, we can confirm that this card offers a range of complimentary insurance benefits, including international travel insurance which will cover you and your spouse as long as she is travelling with you for the entire journey and the return tickets were purchased using the Bendigo Platinum Visa Card and as long as you both are not over the age of 75 years as stated on page 18 under General Exclusions. Cruises are covered provided you have purchased the full return fare to the UK.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,

      Jonathan

      JacobApril 10, 2014Staff

      Hi, William.

      Thanks for your question.

The terms and conditions (I’ve sent them to your email) state on page 16 under general exclusions:’ “If You are over seventy-five (75) years of age. This will not prejudice any entitlement to claim benefits which has arisen before You attain
the age of seventy-six (76) years.” So it appears this insurance will provide cover for people up to the age of 76. Please refer to the terms and conditions for further information.

      I hope this helps.
