If you want to earn points without spending hundreds of dollars on a credit card annual fee, the ANZ Rewards Platinum earns between 0.5 and 1.5 points per $1 and has a $95 annual fee – which is waived in the first year. To give you an idea of the value of ANZ Rewards points, you could use the 120,000 bonus points to get $520 worth of Woolworths WISH digital gift cards.

You can also use your points for travel rewards, cashback on your account, retail items or convert them to frequent flyer points with Velocity Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Asia Miles and Air New Zealand Airpoints.

How to apply

You can apply for the ANZ Rewards Platinum credit card online in around 5 minutes and receive a response in 60 seconds. Before you start your application, make sure that you meet the eligibility requirements and have the necessary information.

Eligibility criteria

  • New customer. The bonus points offer is only available to new ANZ Rewards credit card holders.
  • Residency requirement. Citizens and permanent residents of Australia are eligible to apply. If you are a non-Australian permanent resident, you must have an eligible working or business visa with at least 9 months remaining.

Card benefits

  • 120,000 bonus Reward Points. Receive 120,000 bonus points when you apply for an ANZ Rewards Platinum Card, are approved and spend $1,500 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months from card approval. Your bonus points will be credited to your account within three months of meeting the spend requirement. Eligible purchases include most of your everyday spending. Transactions that you won’t earn points for include cash advances, balance transfers and payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • First-year annual fee waiver. Save with a $0 annual fee for the first year (reverting to $95 p.a. thereafter).

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. Outside of any promotions, this card charges an annual fee of $95 (which includes a $40 annual fee and a $55 rewards fee).
  • Purchase rate. Purchases will collect interest at 20.24% p.a. (variable).

I have paid for a holiday at Christmas with my Visa credit card. I understand that my husband is not eligible for the free travel insurance as he is outside the age limit. Am I eligible for the travel insurance and how do I go about arranging a copy of the policy?

    Thank you for your help.

      Hi Sue,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

The eligibility requirements for the ANZ complimentary travel insurance are as follows:

      • Use an eligible ANZ credit card to pay for at least AUD$250 (inclusive of taxes and other charges) of your prepaid travel costs.
      • You should be a permanent Australian citizen or resident or hold a visa that allows you to live and work in Australia issued under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
      • You must have a valid return overseas travel ticket before leaving Australia.
      • You must be 80 years of age or under on the day you activated the insurance policy.
      • A spouse and/or a child who is travelling with the cardholder on the trip for at least 50% of the period of cover is also eligible for travel insurance.

Since ANZ credit card complimentary travel insurance is underwritten by Allianz Australia Insurance, please contact them directly for a copy of your policy.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

      Hi John,

      Thanks for your question.

The complimentary travel insurance that comes with your card will also cover your spouse and any dependent children that are travelling with you. They will also have to meet the eligibility criteria, including payments to your card for part of their travel bookings.

You may refer to the ANZ credit card complimentary travel insurance to check the eligibility criteria for the complimentary travel insurance.

      Cheers,

Does this card have a balance transfer system?

      July 20, 2017

      Hi Tamara,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Yes, you can do a balance transfer with this card. If you wish to explore other options, please check our list of balance transfer credit cards.

I recommend that you check the details of the credit card you’re interested in, its eligibility criteria as well as the Product Disclosure Statements/Terms and Conditions before you apply.

Also if you can, contact first the issuing bank and discuss your options and chances of approval before you send anything final for your application. Just apply for one credit card at a time and ensure your eligibility before submitting your final application. This way you can avoid credit enquiries on your file.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Rench

      Hi Tess1988,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Since your existing card is an ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures card, you may be able to receive the bonus points of 40,000 offer for the ANZ Rewards Platinum Credit Card so long you applied and get approved for the card as well as you meet the spending condition of $500 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months from card approval.

Please also note that a balance transfer, as previously stated in the condition, between an existing ANZ card to this account is not allowed.

      Cheers,
      May

      Hi Mustafa,

Thanks for getting in touch with Finder. I hope all is well with you.

I’m afraid, you will not be eligible for the bonus points offer when you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Black credit card within the previous twelve months. If still wish to proceed, you may click the green “Go to ANZ’s website” button to be redirected to their website. Once you’re on their landing page, please scroll down until you would see “Important Information.”

      I hope this helps.

      Warm regards,
      Judith

Hi I have a Krisflyer membership and I was wondering can I send my points earned over to that? And what would be the conversion rate of points?
    Thanks

      Hi Tom,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

If you wish to transfer to Australian banks like ANZ, convert 6,000 reward points for 3,000 KrisFlyer points, starting with a minimum of 6,000 points, and then move forward in multiples of 3,000. For further details, you can check on our guide on Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Frequent Flyer Program.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold

If we transfer points to a frequent flyer account, are they counted as used within the 36 months or do they still expire?

      Hi Jacki,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

The ANZ Rewards Program points are considered redeemed or used once you transfer them to a frequent flyer program or account. The redeemed frequent flyer points or miles will then follow the validity period set by the frequent flyer program.

Please check out our frequent flyer point transfer guide for more details about ANZ point requirements and the transfer process of different frequent flyer programs.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards,
      Jason

      Hello Nicole,

      Thanks for your question.

As stated in the fine prints on the ANZ website, to be able to qualify for the ANZ Rewards Platinum 50,000 bonus points offer you must be a new and approved applicant for the ANZ Rewards Platinum credit card account. The offer is also not available if you currently hold an ANZ Rewards, ANZ Rewards Platinum or ANZ Rewards Black credit card within the previous twelve months.

If you need further clarification on the offer, please feel free to contact ANZ directly.

      Cheers,
      Harold
