Expert review

If you want to earn points without spending hundreds of dollars on a credit card annual fee, the ANZ Rewards Platinum earns between 0.5 and 1.5 points per $1 and has a $95 annual fee – which is waived in the first year. To give you an idea of the value of ANZ Rewards points, you could use the 100,000 bonus points to get $440 worth of Woolworths WISH digital gift cards.

You can also use your points for travel rewards, cashback on your account, retail items or convert them to frequent flyer points with Velocity Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Asia Miles and Air New Zealand Airpoints.

How to apply

You can apply for the ANZ Rewards Platinum credit card online in around 5 minutes and receive a response in 60 seconds. Before you start your application, make sure that you meet the eligibility requirements and have the necessary information.

Eligibility criteria

  • New customer. The bonus points offer is only available to new ANZ Rewards credit card holders.
  • Residency requirement. Citizens and permanent residents of Australia are eligible to apply. If you are a non-Australian permanent resident, you must have an eligible working or business visa with at least 9 months remaining.

Card benefits

  • 100,000 bonus Reward Points. Receive 100,000 bonus points when you apply for an ANZ Rewards Platinum Card, are approved and spend $1,500 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months from card approval. Your bonus points will be credited to your account within three months of meeting the spend requirement. Eligible purchases include most of your everyday spending. Transactions that you won’t earn points for include cash advances, balance transfers and payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • First-year annual fee waiver. Save with a $0 annual fee for the first year (reverting to $95 p.a. thereafter).

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. Outside of any promotions, this card charges an annual fee of $95 (which includes a $40 annual fee and a $55 rewards fee).
  • Purchase rate. Purchases will collect interest at 20.24% p.a. (variable).

I have paid for a holiday at Christmas with my Visa credit card. I understand that my husband is not eligible for the free travel insurance as he is outside the age limit. Am I eligible for the travel insurance and how do I go about arranging a copy of the policy?

    Thank you for your help.

      Hi Sue,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

The eligibility requirements for the ANZ complimentary travel insurance are as follows:

      • Use an eligible ANZ credit card to pay for at least AUD$250 (inclusive of taxes and other charges) of your prepaid travel costs.
      • You should be a permanent Australian citizen or resident or hold a visa that allows you to live and work in Australia issued under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
      • You must have a valid return overseas travel ticket before leaving Australia.
      • You must be 80 years of age or under on the day you activated the insurance policy.
      • A spouse and/or a child who is travelling with the cardholder on the trip for at least 50% of the period of cover is also eligible for travel insurance.

Since ANZ credit card complimentary travel insurance is underwritten by Allianz Australia Insurance, please contact them directly for a copy of your policy.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni
