Expert review

The Community First Low Rate Pink credit card is one of the only charity credit cards available in Australia –with 50% of the annual fee helping to fund McGrath breast care nurses. These nurses offer free care and support for people experiencing breast cancer and work in communities all around the country.

As well as supporting the McGrath Foundation, this card’s 8.99% variable interest rate is very competitive with other low rate options. Unlike most credit cards, this interest rate also applies to balance transfers and cash advances, which can make it easier to keep track of interest charges if you have balances from a few different types of transactions.

How to apply

You can apply for the Community First Low Rate Pink credit card online by filling out a secure application form on the Community First website. Get started by making sure you meet the eligibility criteria and have all the documents and details you'll need to provide when you apply.

Eligibility criteria

  • Income requirement. You must earn a regular income to apply for this card.
  • Residency. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Card benefits

  • McGrath Foundation support. Each year you have this card, $20 of the annual fee is automatically donated to the McGrath Foundation to help support breast care nurses that look after people experiencing breast cancer. This unique credit card partnership is highlighted through the card's bright pink design, which includes the McGrath Foundation logo.
  • Balance transfer offer. Transfer an existing debt to this card and save with 0% interest on balance transfers for the first 6 months. If you don't pay it off in full by the end of the introductory period, any remaining debt will attract the 8.99% p.a. interest rate.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. The $40 annual fee on this card is competitive with other low rate credit cards – plus half is donated to charity.
  • Interest-free days on purchases. If you pay off your total outstanding balance by the due date on each statement, you'll get up to 55 days interest-free on purchases in the next statement period. Note that interest-free days don't apply to cash advances or balance transfers.

      Hi Rosalea,

      Thanks for your questions.

This card has a maximum credit limit of $15,000, however, the maximum balance transfer and balance transfer frequency will depend on the bank’s approval of your application. This card is accepted in ATM’s where a Visa is accepted and note that there is a Cash Advance Rate (8.99% p.a.).

To get started with your application, check the part of our page that says “How to apply.” As a friendly reminder, check the eligibility requirements of the card before proceeding with your application. Also, read about its features and benefits and see how it fits your financial needs. Additionally, it’s helpful to review the PDS and Terms & Conditions of the card before fully committing to the card. You may also reach out to the bank if you have any clarifications.

      Hope this helps!

      Hi Robert,

Thanks for getting in touch! Those features you want are all available in cards but not all 4 will be available in one card. Below are the links you can review:

These pages have a comparison table you can use to find the card that suits you. When you are ready, you may then click on the “Go to site” button and you will be redirected to the bank’s website where you can proceed with the application or get in touch with their representatives for further inquiries you may have.

Hope this was helpful. Don’t hesitate to message us back if you have more questions.

      Hi Sinai,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.
Community First Credit Union issues these cards, so you can apply by visiting any Community First service centre, and you can also apply online and over the phone. To apply online, start by visiting the McGrath Pink Visa website, but only after making sure you meet the eligibility criteria such as you must be over 18 years of age, you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident and you have a good credit history.

      I hope this helps.

      Have a great day!
