Hi Narelle,
With a credit card you get a monthly statement. The statement tells the payment due date and the minimum monthly payment.
You can repay your spending in full on or before that date and avoid any interest charges. If you pay the minimum (or less than the full amount) you get charged interest.
I hope this helps.

Could my elderly mother apply for a credit card. Currently has a coles credit card and we are having a lot of problems getting her new card activated. She wants a card for emergencies but with no ongoing annual fees.

Hi Vicki,
It’s possible but definitely harder to get a credit card approved for someone who may be retired or not working. Having evidence of income like investment income or a pension stream through super can help.

Hi Darren, Coastline doesn’t appear to offer dual-card options for its Visa card, though your wife might be able to apply for a card in her own right.

I’m looking at the Coastline Visa Credit Card and I’ve noticed that the minimum monthly repayment is $20-00 per transaction. I’m unsure what is meant by this. Are they saying that the minimum monthly repayment is $20-00 per monthly transaction on the statement or something else. Can you please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Craig,
Sorry there was a missing detail there. It’s 3% of your balance or $20, whichever is greater. We are updating the page.

How do you pay your monthly bill, do you send a bill and is there any costs?
