      Hi Sally,

Good afternoon and thanks for your question.
The 2% fee is charged by the credit card issuer when transferring a balance from one account to another.

      Cheers,
      Ysa

    Hi,

If I get a cash advance on my BankWest card will the cash advance (with the higher interest rate) be paid before the previous purchases are paid.

    Kind Regards,
    Kerry

Hi Kerry, thanks for your inquiry!

That is correct, the repayments to a credit card are allocated to the portion of debt which has highest rate of interest first then to the second highest rate of interest and so forth.

      Cheers,

      Jonathan

Hi my wife and I currently have a Westpac MasterCard that is quite high and attracting a huge amount of interest. The card is in her name, can I still do the balance transfer if I get your card under my name?

      Jacob | December 18, 2013

      Hi Jeff.

Please have a look at the table on this page. It has information on the institutions that allow you to transfer between two cards in different names under a balance transfer promotion.

      Thanks for your question.

Hi i applied on line and was approved however Bankwest advised that the deal is 2.9% for 9 months balance transfer and there is no deal available as per your web site 0% for 12 months

    What do I do now?

      Staff
      Jacob | December 16, 2013

      Hi Karen.

Did you contact Bankwest to confirm the terms of the offer or did they contact you? In most cases, the call centre staff are not aware of the exclusive offers partner websites, like finder.com.au, have in place with the lender.

However, if you were contacted by Bankwest with a confirmation of the terms of your offer (with a balance transfer promotional term of nine months), then there has been a mistake with your application. I can confirm that if you applied through out site, you will be eligible for a balance transfer promotion of 0% for 12 months.

Let us know if you’re having issues with this and we should be able to work something out.

      Jacob.

    Hi,

i was filling in the online application form for this by going through the link provided here, but i couldn’t find any place in the application form to enter balance transfer details. i called bankwest on their general number and i was told that balance transfer is processed after the application is approved and so i don’t need to mention the balance transfer at this stage. But i am a bit confused because i can see one of your replies to a user query below saying that there is a box i need to tick to mention the balance transfer credit card details in the financial details page. why cant i see this in my online application form? is this offer has expired now?

    thank you,

      Staff
      Jacob | December 11, 2013

      Hi Laks.

Thanks for getting in touch with us about your application for the card.

On the page of the application where it asks you if you to enter the details of your existing credit cards, charge cards etc. enter the details of the accounts you wish to transfer from. You also have the option of keeping your old accounts open or closing them. If you’re approved for a card, you will be contacted by Bankwest with an offer of an approved credit limit. They will also ask you if you would like to transfer a balance from your existing cards. You can transfer up to a percentage of your approved credit limit.

      I hope this helps.

Can you apply for this if you are already a Bankwest customer and have a lite Bankwest MasterCard which you would like to transfer to this card. If not I will take the Westpac deal. Thank you

      Staff
      Jacob | December 9, 2013

      Hi Kylie.

      Thanks for your question.

You can’t transfer a balance from one Bankwest credit card to another card offered by Bankwest under the promotional balance transfer rate of interest. You can still apply for this card; however, you will not be eligible for the promotional balance transfer rate of interest if you’re transferring a balance from a Bankwest credit card.

You can compare balance transfer offers on this page.

      I hope this helps.

I intend to apply for a Bankwest Breeze master card – can I include a balance transfer from a visa card held in my wife’s name.

    With thanks

      Jacob | December 6, 2013

      Hi Gasper.

      Thanks for your question.

Bankwest will allow you to transfer between two cards in different people’s name provided that the primary cardholder is a signatory on the new account. You can find out more about this topic on this page.

      I hope this helps.
