While looking into a transaction account to take care of your financial needs, consider the following features that ME is offering.

$0 Monthly account keeping fee

There are no charges to your account monthly.

Linked 'buck' debit Mastercard

Each account opened comes with a debit Mastercard that can be used to make purchases by withdrawing the money spent straight from your account. If you misplace your card, an emergency replacement card is free of charge.

Charitable donations with a pink debit card

If you choose the pink debit card, ME will make a one cent donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation every time you make a purchase with it.

$0 ATM fees and charges in Australia

With your debit Mastercard you have free access to your money at any ATM in Australia – you'll be given a refund for any fees you pay within 30 days.

Other free transactions

You can also use EFTPOS, BPAY, PayAnyone, Bank@Post and tap & go all for free.

Contactless payments: tap & go

Tap & go is a debit Mastercard feature that allows you to make in store purchases of under $100 simply by waving your debit card. You'll need to make one of these per week if you'd like to earn the bonus interest rate on the Online Savings account.

Using your card overseas

If you use your debit Mastercard overseas to make a withdrawal at an ATM your account will be charged 4.00% per transaction plus an international transaction fee listed below. You might also incur additional fees by the issuing financial institution. Overseas emergency replacement cards are free.

Currency conversion or making a purchase in another currency

If you make an international purchase or withdrawal you will be charged an international transaction fee of 2.30% of the AUD value. This usually occurs from shopping overseas, or online from a non-Australian website. This is comprised of a 0.8% Mastercard cross border fee – charged on transactions where the merchant account is not held in Australia, and a 1.5% International fee – charged on any foreign currency transaction converted into Australian dollars.

Cheques

If you prefer to take care of some of your banking needs with a cheque, you will be charged $10 for each book of 50 pages. You can also purchase a bank cheque for $6.

No additional cheque fees

There are no additional fees to repurchase, replace or stop a bank cheque.

Is there a fee on the Every Day Transaction Account for BSB transfers?

    • Staff
      May | May 14, 2017

      Hi AJS,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Are you pertaining to the fee when making a telegraphic transfer (domestic only) using your ME EveryDay Transaction Account? If so, the bank charges $30 for that type of transaction and that will be charged to your account immediately. If you’d like to know more about the fees that would possibly apply to your everyday account, please refer to the Factsheets found on ME Bank’s official page.

      Cheers,
      May

    Hi there,
What would be some of the best online only banking services that allow regular deposits here in Australia to earn interest, but provide a debit card – which is intended for use overseas- which has low ATM/eftpos/currency conversion costs?
    thanks

      Hi Cara,

Thanks for your inquiry. You’ve come through to finder.com.au we are an Australian financial comparison website and general information service, not actually ME frank.

You can get the 3.35% p.a. if you will link this ME EveryDay Transaction Account to an ME Online Savings account and make a weekly tap & go purchase.

      Cheers,
      May
