If I purchase an international flight for my son on this card, does he receive complimentary travel insurance associated as a benefit of this card?

Hi David,

No, he would only be eligible for complimentary travel insurance if he travels with you together. He would then be covered as your companion, but as the card-holder, you need to be on the itinerary as well.

Can the card transactions be connected to your bookkeeping software like Xero or Myob etc with this card.

Hi Dennis,

I suggest asking Virgin Money about this directly. I can’t any confirmation on Virgin’s site. And I did find a lot of customers on Xero’s customer support pages complaining about not being able to connect their Virgin Money card to Xero.

Do you earn points on purchases made & paid off straight away, prior to statement closing balance?

Hi Lea,

Yes you do, as long as the purchases are eligible transactions (which most purchases are).

Hi Anna,

The Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer card does not directly allow you to earn points when paying ATO bills. However, Velocity Frequent Flyer has partnered with pay.com.au, a platform that allows businesses to pay various bills, including ATO payments, using a linked payment card, and earn Velocity Points in the process. Note that some fees apply to use this service. If you want a card that does earn ATO points directly, here are some options. Hope this helps!
