Hi William, the additional cardholder fee is charged annually. I hope this helps.

How do I access the $129 virgin flight voucher once I have successfully signed up for my credit card?

Amy Bradney-George Finder

March 13, 2023

Hi Dee,

Once you’ve activated the card and had it for at least 30 days, you can request the flight voucher by visiting and following the steps there. Keep in mind that you’ll need to have used the card for a retail purchase at least once in the 2 months before requesting the voucher.

After meeting the requirements, Virgin Australia will send an email to the address linked to your Velocity account, with details of your Travel Bank account number and confirmation of the $129 credit. Hope this helps!

You have indicated in the details for the Virgin Australia Flyer Credit Card that before 31 March 2023 a choice of 30k additional velocity points/250 status credits/$200 Coles Gift Voucher can be obtained by activating the CC offer through Velocity before applying. I can find nothing about this on the Velocity Site – just the existing offer of 100k points. Also, I do not have a chat box in the lower right corner of this page.

If you have a card under your partners account and apply for a new card in your own name, is it considered a new user?

Amy Bradney-George Finder

February 24, 2023

Hi Jim,

The terms and conditions for this offer say it is available to “to new and approved Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card account holders”. And if you are an additional cardholder, you wouldn’t be considered the account holder, as Virgin Money defines an additional cardholder as “another person who you have authorised to have a card on your account” in its terms and conditions.

Government-related transactions include transactions with government or semi-government entities, or relating to services provided by or in connection with government (for example but not limited to transactions made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court related costs). Check the Rewards Program for High Flyer and Flyer Terms and Conditions for full details and definition on the Virgin website.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out to us again for further assistance.
