You can apply for the National Seniors Credit Card online by filling in a secure application form through the website. You can also enquire about the card by calling 1300 153 320.

Keep in mind that some documents relating to this card may refer to Community First Credit Union, as it issues the credit card on behalf of National Seniors Australia.

Eligibility criteria

  • Income. You must have a regular income.
  • Australian residency status. You can apply for this card if you're an Australian permanent resident or citizen.

Card benefits

  • Balance transfer offer. The National Seniors Credit Card offers an introductory 4.99% p.a. interest rate on balance transfers for the first 6 months. After that, the card's 8.99% p.a. standard variable interest rate applies to any remaining balance transfer amount. While there is no offer end date listed, it may be withdrawn at any time.
  • Low rate. The 8.99% p.a. variable interest rate on this card is very competitive among low rate credit cards in Australia, which typically range from around 8% to 15%. This rate also applies to cash advances and balance transfers, outside of any promotions.

Rates and fees

  • Annual fee. The $40 annual fee is similar to other low rate credit cards. Half of the annual fee ($20) also goes towards supporting National Seniors.
  • Interest-free days. This credit card offers up to 55 days interest-free on purchases when you pay off the total balance listed on your statement by the due date.

Will I be eligible if I am a National Seniors member, am age 68, have not worked fulltime for 14 years until started again on 18 December 2023 although worked for previous year casually parlly as self-contractor as well as an employee?
