We are retirees. Can we still apply for this card?

Appreciate your response/guidance.

Hi Anoop, Thanks for your question! It depends on your income. Credit card providers will assess your ability to make the payments each month, based on 3% of your card’s maximum credit limit. So if they approve you for a $10k limit, they will want to make sure you can afford $300 per month. If you are retired but your income support these repayments each month after your other living costs, then you might get approved. Your best bet is to contact them directly and chat about your situation to see what your likelihood of approval is. Hope this helps!

Hi Amy, I am just looking for a card for my husband as he is a secondary cardholder on mine and if anything happens to me, he won’t have a card. We are fully self-funded retirees and I have just been through a very unpleasant process with another card provider, is it worth applying for this Kogan one do you think?

Hi June,

Please be aware that Finder can only give general advice and factual information. In regards to this card, the eligibility requirements include having employment or being self-employed. But Finder does have a guide to credit cards for people who are retired or receive a pension, which may be of assistance. You could also consider discussing your options with your current credit card provider. I hope this helps.
