Our verdict

Offers 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 and an ongoing $0 annual fee, specifically for police and ambulance workers in Victoria.

The BankVic Qantas Visa gives you a way to earn frequent flyer points on your everyday spending, without paying a credit card annual fee. This can save you hundreds of dollars compared to Qantas credit cards that charge annual fees (and most do). The earn rate of 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 is similar to some cards that charge an annual fee, but not as high as more premium Qantas cards.

Pros

  • $0 annual fee for life
  • 6.99% p.a. interest rate for 6 months on purchases and balance transfers
  • Uncapped Qantas Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases

Cons

  • The introductory rate offer on purchases and balance transfers is still higher than the 0% interest rate offered by most cards.
  • A transaction fee of 2% is charged for online or overseas purchases made in a foreign currency using this card.
