Hi Tammy,
Paying rent via credit card can be considered a cash advance, unless it’s paid through a specific platform. You can learn more about earning points when paying rent in our guide. If you pay bills via BPay using your credit card, that transaction is usually ineligible for points. However pay for bills using a credit card as your payment method (such as paying for your energy bill to your energy company as a direct debit) is generally eligible for points. Hope this helps!

Would I have a problem applying for a card if I live permanently on a boat in QLD?

Hi Bubbles,
You’ll need an address to complete the application and receive the card. But I imagine that’s an issue for boat life in general. You could use a PO box or Auspost parcel locker?
But I don’t think living on a boat affects your eligibility otherwise.

Hi, what’s the minimum income required to be eligible for this card?

Hi Alice, Amex doesn’t specify an exact minimum income, but notes that applicants must earn a sufficient income to manage repayments, and have a good credit score and credit history.

I am interested in applying for the credit card but before I do that need clarification on the below 2 questions:
1. If I pay the amount within 55 days will there be any monthly fee?
2. Moreover, is there any card holding fee?
Amy Bradney-George Finder

Hi Maleeha,
There is no monthly fee on this card. You’ll get up to 55 days interest-free on purchases in each statement period if you repay the total amount listed on each statement by the due date. You can learn more about how interest-free days work in Finder’s guide to avoid interest charges on your purchases.
This card has no annual fee and no “card holding fee” (not a common term in Australia). The other fees and charges that may apply in different situations are listed on this guide and on the American Express website. I hope this helps.
