How the Finder Score helps you find a better savings account

The Finder Score is a simple score out of 10. The higher a savings account's score, the better we think it is for the average customer.

We score each savings account in our database of hundreds based on a data-driven methodology with 2 main criteria: Does the account offer a high interest rate? And is it easy for savers to actually earn that rate?

      Hi Peter,

BOQ offers account-to-account transfers (Pay Anyone) to a PayID, and other one-off or scheduled payments (for example, direct debits and payroll payments by businesses) made through NPP/Osko.

WHAT IS THE INTEREST RATE FOR $250.000….

      Angus Kidman's headshotFinder
      AngusOctober 24, 2024Finder

Hi Nick, That rate would vary depending on which of these accounts you picked, and if you met the eligibility and terms – but across the main BOQ accounts, it varies between 4.85% and 5.5% right now. You might find it useful to compare high-interest savings accounts more broadly with our main guide. Hope this helps.

      Hi Helen,

We’re a review and comparison site, we’re not directly affiliated with BOQ so we can’t offer customer service. Your best bet is to contact them directly with this enquiry: 1300 557 272.

      Best of luck!

      Hi Tony,

When the rate decision was announced, BOQ released a statement confirming home loans would increase by 0.25%.

On savings accounts, they stated: BOQ understands the ongoing challenges this environment has presented to household budgets. To help customers build up their savings, we have continued to reward them with competitive rates.

This indicates they did not increase interest rates on savings accounts in November.

You can read the full statement here: https://www.boq.com.au/About-us/media-centre/media-releases/2023/november-rba-decision

      Hope this helps!
