Our verdict: Most of Superloop's prepaid mobile plans offer good value, especially if you want access to the Telstra network and perks like bundling discounts and data banking.
Superloop may be better known as an NBN provider, but it has been selling prepaid mobile plans on Telstra's wholesale network since 2022.
When it comes to value, Superloop does well overall and offers more features than your typical prepaid provider.
The main caveat is its entry-level plan, which costs $25 for 15GB and falls short compared to many competing offers at this price.
Its mid-range and high data plans provide much better bang for buck and also come with 5G access.
Where Superloop stands out is with extra features such as bundling discounts for internet and mobile, the ability to bank unused data for future use, and unlimited international calls to selected countries.
All Superloop plans also have a 30-day billing cycle, unlike the more common 28-day cycle used by many prepaid providers. This means you pay 12 bills a year instead of 13.
Pros
Access to Telstra's wholesale 4G and 5G networks
Data banking up to 1000GB
Unlimited international calls and texts to selected countries
Option to sign up via an eSIM
Mobile app to track data use and manage plan
Bundle mobile and internet to save up to $15 a month
Cons
Roaming is only available on a pay-as-you-go basis
Superloop's mobile plans run on Telstra's wholesale network, which covers 98.8% of Australia's population - slightly less than the full Telstra network's 99.7% coverage.
However, this should be good enough for most people unless you're in certain rural or remote areas.
Most plans also include access to 5G, except the entry-level plan.
Its 4G download speeds are capped at 100Mbps while 5G speeds are capped between 150Mbps and 250Mbps, depending on the plan.
All of these speeds are fast enough to comfortably handle all phone activities, including 4K video streaming.
What features and perks does Superloop offer?
The majority of Superloop's mobile plans provide a good mix of perks and features for the asking price. Here's a rundown of what you get:
Data banking
This feature lets you roll over unused data for future use.
You can store up to 500GB on two of its entry-level plans and 1000GB on the rest.
The banked data will remain in your account unless you downgrade your plan or cancel it.
Some rival telcos have a data bank limit of 200GB or under, while a few offer unlimited data banking. This puts Superloop somewhere in the middle in terms of value.
Unlimited international calls and texts
All plans include unlimited calls and texts to the following destinations: Bangladesh, Canada, China, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UK and USA.
You can also purchase 300 call minutes and unlimited standard SMS to 30 countries for $6.
Bundling discount
Superloop NBN customers can save $5 off their internet bill per month when they bundle their plan with an eligible Superloop mobile service.
You can increase your savings to as much as $15 a month when you bundle additional mobile plans for other family members.
Other noteworthy features include support for eSIMs for compatible phones, free shipping of physical SIM cards and access to the SuperHub app, which can be used to monitor usage, view invoices, pay bills and change plans.
The app is unmetered, so you can access it even if your plan has run out of data.
Must read
Auto-renew is switched on by default when you sign up, so you'll need to turn it off if you don't want your plan to recharge automatically. If you run out of data, top-ups are pricey at $10 for 1GB or $25 for 5GB.
How good is Superloop Mobile's customer service?
Superloop Mobile does not appear in complaint data published by either the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) or the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO), so there's currently no formal measure of its customer service performance.
Its customer support team is based in Australia (Adelaide), Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
You can get in touch with Superloop Mobile in the following ways:
Call 1800 57 87 37 between 8:30am-10pm AEST, 7 days a week (including public holidays)
Live chat (type 'speak to an agent' to be connected with a live representative)

Important information about this website
Finder makes money from featured partners, but editorial opinions are our own.
Finder is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We are committed to our readers and stand by our editorial principles.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
We make money by featuring products on our site. Compensation received from the providers featured on our site can influence which products we write about as well as where and how products appear on our page, but the order or placement of these products does not influence our assessment or opinions of them, nor is it an endorsement or recommendation for them.
Products marked as 'Top Pick', 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
Please read our website terms of use and privacy policy for more information about our services and our approach to privacy.
We update our data regularly, but information can change between updates. Confirm details with the provider you're interested in before making a decision.
