  • Westpac's Third Party Property Damage Insurance provides cover for loss or damage to someone else’s property due to an accident that's partly or fully your fault, doesn't cover damage to your own car.

    What additional cover options are available?

    Westpac offers three additional cover options for drivers who want to strengthen their policy.

    • Nil excess for windscreen claims - Don't pay an excess for windscreen claims if it's the only damage to your vehicle. Limited to one replacement and two repairs a year.
    • Rental car following an accident - Get a rental car after an accepted claim for accidental damage. Capped at 30 days, at up to $100 per day.
    • Tools of trade - Claim up to $3,000 for stolen or damaged tools of trade, stock and materials. Must be in a locked vehicle, in a tool box that's permanently fixed to your vehicle, or damaged in a crash.

      Hi Harold, That is quite an increase! Insurance prices have increased across the board over the last year or two, but regarding your specific policy, we can’t provide personal advice as we’re a review and comparison site. We recommend you contact Westpac directly. If you’re unhappy with your premium, it’s a good idea to shop around for a better deal – the difference between the cheapest car insurance policy and the most expensive one on our panel is over $1000, so there is a big difference. It’s worth shopping around!

      We have our car Insurance with you and need to now change the vechile as we have sold the Barina and purchased a Suzuki Escudo 2.4 2008 2000cc registration NTB 43
      NZ New $16495 was the purchase price ;
