I am thinking of getting Starlink. I saw an email add promoting Starlink and the email said that if I was to get Starlink I would receive a Travel unit that I could put in my caravan.
Hi Garry,
We recommend being extremely cautious, as emails offering “free” Starlink travel units may be phishing scams designed to steal personal or financial information. While targeted, legitimate, limited-time offers for a free or discounted mini units occasionally exist for long-term residential customers in Australia, they are communicated directly through official channels and generally not offered at random. Your best bet might be to contact Starlink directly to see if this offer is genuine. Hope this helps!
I’m about to travel Australia, which deal is best for me?
Hi Bill,
Sounds like you’re in for a life changing adventure!
You’re going to need a StarLink Roam kit which is specifically designed for mobility and travel.
The standard kit normally costs $549, but you can currently get it for half-price ($275). This deal is only available until 3 September, so you will need to get in quick.
In addition to the Roam hardware, you’ll also need a plan to get connected. You can choose between 50GB for $80 a month or unlimited data for $195 a month.
Hope this helps!
Can Starlink be used in high rise apartments
Hi Larriece, Starlink requires a clear view of the sky which can make installation tricky in high rise apartments.
Your best bet is to use the Check for Obstructions tool on the Starlink app. This uses your phone’s camera to determine if the satellite can reach your location. (Needless to say, you should do this before ordering your Starlink.)
You can find detailed instructions on the Starlink website. Hope this helps!
We wish to sign up for starlink…started to order and was given a price..
$549.00 KITT
$1145.00 demand surcharge …
Please explain the above charge ??
Hi Lorraine,
We’re a review and comparison site, you’ll need to contact Starlink directly to find out what the demand surcharge is about. You can contact them through your starlink portal if you have one, or email starlinkresolutions@spacex.com. Best of luck!
CAN I GET PHONE & FAX LINES WITH MY SET UP
IF SO HOW DOSE IT WORK
REGARDS
GEOFF
Hi Geoff, while Starlink doesn’t offer traditional phone/fax service itself, you can get phone and fax lines by using VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) over your Starlink internet connection. You’ll need to choose a VOIP provider and they can help you with the setup. Unfortunately we don’t compare VOIP providers on Finder. Hope this helps!
