Apple went back to the future with the launch of the iPhone SE, which delivered the tech of the iPhone 6S in the body of an iPhone 5.
Apple iPhone SE: Specs
Most people expected the next iPhone to launch from Cupertino's halls in 2016 would be the highly anticipated iPhone 7. But Apple bucked its own trend by announcing the iPhone SE back in March. The smaller iPhone was designed to bring the advanced technologies of the company's current flagships to a more compact device.
From a design perspective, there is very little separating the iPhone SE with 2012's iPhone 5. Almost all of the improvements have been made on the inside, with the iPhone SE boasting the same processor and rear camera as the iPhone 6S.
There are a few legacy tech inclusions though. The front facing camera is still only 1.2MP, while the TouchID fingerprint scanner is the first-generation hardware, not the improved sensor found in the more recent iPhone models.

Apple iPhone SE: Buy outright
The iPhone SE is one of the cheapest mobile phones that Apple has ever released, but that doesn't mean it's cheap. Compared to some of the more affordable Android phones on the market, the iPhone SE still maintains a high price tag.
That said, for iOS fans looking to get a new iPhone for the cheapest possible price, the iPhone SE offers the best value proposition available, especially for the 16GB model purchased from online retailers.

Apple iPhone SE: Review
The iPhone SE delivers a lot of impressive features for such a compact phone, making it a great option for anyone looking for a more affordable Apple phone. The one area that the SE really didn't excel at though was battery life, so be prepared to carry a charger with you everywhere you go.
"If you’re an old school iPhone fan who never got on board with the larger size of the iPhone following the reveal of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, then the iPhone SE has some obvious retro throwback appeal. Though we’d strongly argue that if you are keen, then a contract rather than outright buy makes more sense."
With the inclusion of Apple Pay support and Apple's incredible network of apps on the App Store, the iPhone SE is still worth consideration for anyone looking for a new iOS device
