You might be able to save big on interest by going with one of the smaller lenders. But some people prefer the convenience of having a bank branch nearby, or want a home loan from the bank they're already with. Here is a comparison of home loans offered by Australia's "big 4" banks.

Don't want to do it yourself? Contact a mortgage broker

A mortgage broker is a professional who helps borrowers find home loans. Brokers sort through the hundreds of loans available in the market so you don't have to. They're usually free from the borrower's perspective as they earn a commission from the lender you choose to go with. Mortgage brokers are a good choice for people who find it hard to get normal approval for a loan, such as self-employed business owners, people with poor credit history and anyone receiving government benefits.
